the rerecordings are more enjoyable when you don’t have someone annoying in your ear telling you that the sound is off or she doesn’t pause for a breath or some shit

a lot of the fandom forgets why taylor is re-recording. it’s not really about us at all, it’s about her

i love the vault tracks and i’m so happy they’ve been so popular, but she isn’t re-recording as some kind of update for fans. this is actually probably a very..,i hesitate to call something traumatic but at least an upsetting and anxiety-causing process. she’s not doing it because she wants to! it appears that she’s enjoying the releases now but at the end of the day it’s all about “he’s got my past frozen behind glass but i’ve got me” and that’s so much more loaded than we realize

i Guess what i’m saying is very defensive of taylor in a way i’m usually not, but it doesn’t matter to her if it doesn’t sound “right” to us. that’s not why she’s doing this. & to be completely honest…it’s her songs? idk i’ve been guilty of this before but maybe we should recognize that she knows her own art best

cruel summer stans truly never lose like first it was a fan favorite critical darling and then it was the first full song on the eras tour (while taylor is wearing one of her best outfits on any tour ever) and then it started charting solely off it’s own merits and then it became a dark horse single and then we got a live version on streaming and now it’s gonna be number one four years after it was originally released. also taylor yells in the bridge and that’s just hot
