Wandering South

Ferry ride to Vieques, Puerto Rico. We hitched a ride in the bed of a truck to Esperanza. The sun was beginning to set while we walked to our campsite along the beach filled with seaweed.

Drift wood and washed up bamboo chunks ignited our beach bonfire. With the waning moon rising on the horizon, a mother Leatherback sea turtle came ashore. She moved slow but the ground was not right.. she turned around and back into the ocean she went.

After a robust bike ride up and over the mountain, the sun was setting over Villa Marina.

Playa Fortuna. First Puerto Rico beach experience. We drove to the end of pathway, and parked right on the edge of the water. With the mountain view to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east, this island is paradise. Palms scattered everywhere offer perfect hammock hanging posts.
