Hey! You might know me as readyfortakeoff on ao3, but I decided to make an account here because I noticed the kpop sickfic community was fairly active here (and there are several authors on here that I admire that I would like to support).
A little about me and what I write—
I mostly stan NCT and that's reflected in my fics, haha. My ults are Kun and Jaemin, but I'll pretty much write anything for any member of any unit & any relationship since I know them all so well (excluding Wish for now).
I also recently started stanning ZB1 and feel like I have a pretty good grasp on their personalities, so requests for them are also welcome!
I'm also very familiar with the members of BTS, TXT, and Stray Kids. I'm pretty into SKZ right now too, but not much with BTS or TXT.
There's a few groups that I'm only familiar with a few members of, like Seventeen and RIIZE. I mostly have an idea of a few members' personalities but not much about their relationships.
As for scenarios I write about—
My fics are almost always sickfics with some sort of underlying moral to be learned (you'll understand if you look at them).
I've only written about stomach-related illness so far, but would definitely like to try out other scenarios.
So now that all of that is down, here's info if you want to request something!
I am mostly doing this just for fun so there's a chance I turn down your idea for seemingly no reason (but it's actually just because I'm not confident that I can write it lol). Your idea might be better suited to another author if so.
Please be specific in your prompt and what you want/don't want.
A few things that I won't write—snz, scat, urination, smut, x reader... and basically anything else that's inherently fetish-related or explicit.
What I'm most confident in writing—stomach aches, emeto, fevers, mental health struggles—even a few hurt/comfort tropes, like fluff, cuddling etc. General hurt/comfort requests would actually be greatly welcomed along with sickfics!
I'd be most likely to answer requests about NCT and SKZ. You can also inquire about members of the other groups I mentioned, but I might need a quick description of their dynamic with the caretaker.
A quick note about emeto—I only enjoy emeto up until it reaches a loss of control extent (e.g. I can't bring myself to write it when it gets to the sickie throwing up anywhere but a receptacle). Just be aware that I might change your request a little if it goes into that territory!

- Someone will ask if he’s ok and he’ll say he’s not feeling 100% but continue on with his day like normal
- Will casually go throw up then immediately get back to whatever he was doing
- Gets confused if the members are overly concerned
- The only thing that will confine him to his bed is a fever because he will be delirious and fully out of it
- Despite being completely unfazed when sick himself he’s very warm and caring when the other members are unwell
- Prefers not to be touched when sick
Hao
- Gets tummy aches easily if he eats too much or too quickly
- Has a surprisingly strong stomach when it comes to trying different foods though (e.g. that absolute concoction of a drink he posted the recipe for on plus chat)
- Whiny, pouty and a bit irritable when he’s not feeling well
- Complains. A Lot
- Loves tummy rubs
- Will grab someone’s hand and put it on his stomach
- Also just loves being held and having his hair gently stroked
- Sympathy Puker #1
- Makes the cutest whimpery/whiny noises when his tummy is rubbed (kind of like that head massager clip iykyk) and gets super embarrassed about it
- Has no energy at all when sick, especially if he’s throwing up. Literally needs to be lifted off the bathroom floor
- Gets motion sick (canon)
- Probably gets sick on amusement park rides as well
Matthew
- Enjoys being doted on but is super low maintenance
- usually just sleeps it off and then he’s fine lol
- It’s more the members wanting to take care of him than him actually asking for it
- Very cute when sick (which is probably why everyone wants to baby him)
- Might milk it if he’s feeling playful
- Likes tummy rubs but is super ticklish and will giggle a lot
- Overly sweet or indulgent foods will make him feel sick
- Tries his best to stay positive, so if he gets quiet and moody that means he’s really unwell
- Might cry from frustration if things get too overwhelming
- Doesn’t care too much about throwing up and just wants to get it over and done with lol
Taerae
- Hates being sick for the sheer inconvenience of it
- can’t stay still even when super unwell and has to be doing something
- Will complain to anyone who will listen
- Spams the group chat because he doesn’t have anything else to do
- Gets super moody
- Doesn’t get stomach-related illnesses very often but when he does they’re super intense
- Prefers to be alone when throwing up and gets super embarrassed if other people are around
Gyuvin
- Goes Through It
- I can see him as one of those people who comes down with absolutely every illness going around
- Sympathy Puker #2
- extremely emotional when sick
- Will cry over literally anything
- Constantly worries about being a burden and beats himself up for getting sick
- Requires lots of reassurance that it’s not his fault and he’s allowed to rest 😭
- Gets really intense stomach aches where he can’t do anything except curl up on his bed
- Sensitive to food
- It’s actually heartbreaking how miserable he gets
- Needs someone with him at all times to keep him company
- Hates throwing up and cries when it happens
- Clingy and cuddly
- Will melt if someone rubs his tummy
- If he gets enough reassurance to actually relax he loves being doted on
Ricky
- doesn’t like telling people he’s sick
- The telltale sign is him being irritable and moody
- Doesn’t ask for tummy rubs but lets the other members do it if they want to
- Pretends to act nonchalant but secretly loves having his tummy rubbed
- Usually ends up having a strange smirk on his face, which gives it away
- Sympathy Puker #3
- Doesn’t get sick very often but someone else vomiting WILL set him off
- For that reason he’s a slightly awkward and hands-off caretaker
Gunwook
- One of those people who always claims they “don’t get sick” and then gets hit the hardest
- Being sick brings out his aegyo full force
- He’s not even doing it on purpose, he’s just naturally cute and sulky when he’s not feeling well
- Will bury himself in a blanket
- Will text the other members a selfie huddled under said blanket looking pathetic in order to gain sympathy
- It always works
- Too shy to ask for tummy rubs so will whine and make subtle hints until someone offers
- Likes to be held
Yujin
- If he’s sick he tries to hide it from the others because he wants to prove he’s dependable and can handle things on his own
- Unfortunately his telltale signs are extremely obvious
- Goes completely silent, becomes super pale and spaces out when nauseous
- Has probably fainted in the practice room from trying to pretend he’s fine
- The hyungs will be all over him when they know he’s sick
- Doesn’t mind being babied a bit but finds it way too overbearing when all 8 members are fussing over him
- Cries when he gets overwhelmed
- Gets hit super hard by stomach viruses and throws up a lot 🥺
Hi everyone, apologies for disappearing for a while! I kept meaning to update but only got around to it now. In short, some life events made sickfics become unappealing to me and I’m only now getting back into it because I remembered how much I enjoyed it.
For the important part, I will probably not be able to fulfill most of the requests I’ve received. I’m honestly just not built to keep up with it (and too much is going on in life), so I’m sorry to anyone who was looking forward to their request! There were a select few I got really far on though so those might pop up one day—watch out :)
In the meantime, my comeback to writing is marked by the first chapter of a new Zerobaseone fic I’ve started. It will be my first multi-chapter endeavor and I would appreciate any inspiration for the next chapter!

hello! do you have any emeto headcanons for zb1 yujin?
I think I touched the surface in my zb1 sick headcanons post, but I can certainly go into more detail!
Yujin is definitely one of the more panicky sickies. I headcanon that he’s slightly emetophobic, but moreso because of how people will react to it—like he’s probably seen someone panic over throwing up and it got forever ingrained in his head (since he’s an impressionable teen). Thus, he’ll go completely silent whenever he feels the slightest hint of nausea.
I feel like it would also come on really fast for him, like one second he appears fine and the next he’s running for the bathroom. He would be a pretty quiet puker since he’s just quiet in general, so no one would notice unless they saw. Then, when someone finds him, I can see him breaking down sobbing because he just hates feeling so bad.
Unfortunately for Yujin, I also feel he would be susceptible to catching bugs and getting motion sick (still developing body), though he doesn’t necessarily come off as the type to get stomach pain, just the nausea. He would not be the biggest fan of tummy rubs, being very picky with who he allows to touch him—but if it’s the right person and place, he’ll melt into it.

yes I agree that there’s a strong divide between sickies and caretakers in zb1! Although some like gyuvin I can totally see for both (gives the best tummy rubs but would also be a giant puppy when sick himself). And yes to Hao attracting caretakers lol. I can definitely see him getting frequent stomach aches and being the absolute biggest whiny baby. I’m sure he’d love being doted on and all the attention too.

So guess what... you're actually in luck because I recently started stanning ZB1 so I'm now familiar with all of them haha! Here is some of the stuff I have in my notes, and I tried to add caretaker hcs for each as well-
(Sorry to anyone who is waiting for the other requests I took, I just figured I'd answer ZB1-related-stuff first just because they're at the forefront of my mind currently. On that note, please don't hesitate to submit any ZB1 fic requests as well!)
Hanbin
-Gets the short end of the stick with pretty much every sickness there is
-Sometimes has uncharacteristic emotional breakdowns when sick
-I just know he has a collection of comfort objects
-Probably gets stomach aches from stress
-Has a wide variety of facial expressions and vocalizations whether he's the sickie or caretaker
-Cute and fluffy as a caretaker, does everything he can to ensure members' health (including checking on them obsessively)
Jiwoong
-Gets awkward and just spaces out when sick
-Would never allow himself to cry from pain but might tear up
-Feels a sense of duty towards the members, almost like a dad
-Snaps immediately into caring mode whenever he sees someone not feeling well, but respects their boundaries
-Like I can see him just patting someone's back quietly while they cry
Zhang Hao
-Chronic complainer- being sick annoys him more than anything
-Low pain tolerance and tears up from anything
-When something hurts his face will look like he's crying out in pain but he doesn't make a sound or makes a choked noise at best (very specific but I do see him make this kind of expression a lot)
-Looks pathetic and tiny when throwing up
-The members like to touch his tummy a lot because it's soft (as Gyuvin once said)
-Which is a good thing because I can see him getting stomach aches often (attracting caretakers)
-Preaches the importance of health to other people when they're sick
-Insistent and blunt as a caretaker
Matthew
-Doesn't get sick too often, but when he does his whole routine gets thrown off (also with injuries)
-It's weird when he's super sick because the room gets a lot quieter even if he truly does want to talk
-Actively tries to calm down and do positive self-talk when panicking or nauseous (probably knows some breathing exercises)
-Very open with issues, doesn't try to hide it
-Can see him curling up in Jiwoong's arms whenever he gets a stomach ache
-Can sometimes drop the most fire health advice
-As a caretaker, he wants nothing more than for the sickie to feel better so he'd say cheesy cute things
-(not necessarily a sick hc but) Tries to be a mediator whenever members disagree
Taerae
-To be honest, I don't have the tightest grasp on his personality :')
-But I know he would be very cute when sick and his normally logical personality would go down
-He'd just go into hiding until he feels better
-Would just offer physical touch as a caretaker

-Worries a lot about his image while sick (hates being vulnerable)
-Probably won't see him sick often because he keeps to himself

-(this is just me projecting but) I hc him as a hypochondriac and slight emetophobe (mainly out of fear of contagion)

Gyuvin
-If the sickness isn't too severe, he won't really notice or let it interfere with anything (usually the case)
-Gets upset if sickness ruins group plans (there's evidence for this: when he missed a showcase he typed a page-long apology after it)
-Throwing up always drains him of energy
-Self-critical, feels guilty for wasting others' time
-Loves to baby his members
-Probably the most physically affectionate member (randomly hugs and touches)
-Rubs his members' tummies (also evidence for this)
Gunwook
-He's said himself that he cries a lot
-Hates to be alone when sick
-Makes a cute pouty face to attract caretakers
-Would absolutely love to have his tummy rubbed
-Would pretend to be surprised if someone took good care of him but deep down he's not
-As a caretaker, he'd be more likely to keep the sickie company than actually help them

I feel like with ZB1, theres a clear division in members who fit the sickie role vs the caretaker role just because they all have such prominent personalities. I'd say the sickies are Hao, Taerae, Gunwook, and Yujin, while the caretakers are Hanbin, Jiwoong, Matthew, Ricky, and Gyuvin. Let me know what you guys think about this! <3

In the groups that I have liked the most over the years are SKZ (Changbin and Seungmin), EPEX (all of them, I could never choose), ATEEZ (Yeosang), NCT (Taeyong and Haechan), SVT (Woozi) and TXT (Taehyun). Sorry for so much explanation hahaha, but yeah, basically those are the groups that I still keep in my favorites and I'm very fond of them because I've seen most of them debut, except for ATEEZ and NCT :c

I actually was there for TXT’s debut! I liked them for a while and my bias was Beomgyu, but over time I lost interest :(( though I do still keep up with them sometimes!
I guess I also got to see RIIZE and NCT Wish debut, but it was inevitable as a NCTzen lol.
