my parents had company over today. i think it's such a beautiful thing to have relationships last for decades and decades. i'm grateful my parents have friends they've known for over 40 years and every so often they get together. it's such great energy and so fun to be around. my auntie lives in calgary and she said i should visit although they only have mountains. i definitely would love to go to see the scenery, but as far as skiing or snowboarding, i may have to sit those out lol. everyone is headed to nyc tomorrow and i hope they have not only a safe trip, but a memorable one, too. i'll be here with bagel, mom, and ta getting ready for chan when he comes this thursday.

there's a lot going on right now, but i'm thankful and enjoying the days.

after all the accesory painting and pillar wrapping, i washed the sequoia today. my baby is 22 years old at this point, which is the same age of an undergraduate college graduate. as i was drying and vacuuming, i saw a lot of imperfections in the paint. she still looks good given the age, but these past 5 new england winters have been rough on her. i think next year my project for the sequoia will be to get a repaint and a ceramic coat. still, after all these years she's taken good care of the family, bagel, and i.

plus, she still looks amazing.

i just have to make sure i do my part in taking care of her.

i got a message from b-rob today on instagram. i met b-rob in 8th grade. he was the new kid from florida and we debated heat vs lakers and wade vs kobe all the time. we eventually went to high school together where we became close. he ended up moving before senior year, but we've maintained contact ever since. he sent me a picture of a painting i made for him in 2013. b-rob asked if i remembered it and truth be told i had forgotten all about it until he sent me a picture. i couldn't believe he still had it. he said he was going to put it up in his son's room. that's amazing. it sounds so strange given my age, but i forget we're all grown now and that having a family is something that's normal. in my head, it's like i'm still a teenager. matter of fact, it's like all my friends and i are still teenagers. i guess it is true that you remember people how you meet them. either way, i'm happy b-rob messaged me and we're getting a chance to catch up.

i'm even more honored he'd put a painting i did up in his son's room.

i think i'm going to start a page opening packs of mlb cards. i want a signed freddie freeman and a signed shohei ohtani. i'll do a pack of day until i pull those two. i think it'll take a long time given my experience with cards in the past, but who knows, maybe luck may be on my side this time. today i set up the instagram and tiktok pages and tomorrow we'll start ripping.

i'm excited!

today, the weather was beautiful so i went to the park with bagel. the way the clouds sat in the sky made me feel like i was in a movie. i wrote some afterwards, then i got a text from burger king for a future free whopper. then i went to the gym. eventually, i finished this month's national geographic which was their best issue this year thus far, and now i'm watching the hall of fame game between the arizona cardinals and carolina panthers. i'm so happy football is coming back. afterwards, i'm going to hit the studio.

it's seems like a mundane thursday, but it's a thursday i'm grateful for.

i saw something on facebook from one of the local news pages that said yesterday was the last sunset after 8pm until may 2027.

and just like that, summer is coming to an end.

i was at the park with bagel earlier this afternoon when i saw an older lady in a golf cart. we said hi to each other and i told her i liked her golf cart. she said she went golfing this morning but the cart is for bring older folks to and from the parking lot. she told me they have an event at the park that starts in an hour or so and that i should come back from some free food from the police and fire department. as bagel and i were walking, we caught people setting up tents. i told her i'd come back and i had every intention on doing so but i just woke up from a nap and it's 7:45pm, smh.

i keep missing events at the park, but one of these days i gotta catch one before the seasons shift.

i went to costco to put on two ko3s on the sequoia. as my mom and i were waiting, there was another lady on the bench next to us. she told us that she loves our relationship because it reminds her of her and her son. that was so sweet, i'm really glad she said that to us. it made my day. afterwards, we were walking in costco and we got a few things. i saw some topps baseball cards so i was able to get a box. i have never ever bought baseball cards in my life, but i'm beginning to get into them. i really only want dodgers players, mainly freddie and shohei. the jumbo card ended up being shohei and i was able to pull a couple shoheis and a couple freddies! i got commons and one holo of each, so i would say it was a successful box.

who knows, i might go buy another box but i really should just wait otherwise i can see it getting out of control lol.
