It would have been her…

❛ You will not insult my RULE within the confines of my own realm. ❜ He hisses further, only leaning closer. His head cants to one side, a veil of perfect hair curtaining their expressions, trickling moonlight glinting upon silver tresses.

❛ I do not wish to  s p e a k. I do not desire company. Lest it is MY OWN. ❜ He allows space between them, turning once more to the wine bottle that rested upon an intricately carven oak table. He makes to refill his own goblet without further OFFERENCE to his  g u e s t.

❛ It appears the ALLURE of solitude will no longer be afforded to me on this evening. ❜

         She would not scold him on his lack of manners. Though he would not last two seconds in the Shire. While she doesn’t roll her eyes as he strides away from her, she is rather tempted. “And I think you prefer the company of a drink over anyone else, not something advised.”

        No wonder others have seemed to have left him to his own devices. While he was a king, he was not her king. And while there was an amount of respect, he had not earned all of her’s. “And my name is Rosie Cotton. I would much prefer you call me that than halfling.” 

❛ Do you DESERVE my curtesy ?? I should think  n o t. ❜ He retorts. All the same, he finds himself turning his gaze to peer over one shoulder. Though his heel spins in IRRITATION at her final remark, and his stride is quickly bound for her.

❛ You will do well to REMEMBER who you are SPEAKING TO,  H a l f l i n g. Are you in need of a reminder ?? ❜ He hisses out, an icy edge to his tone.

          She does not move, he might tower over her, but there are other things that speak far more loudly than his words. The drink was masking a further pain, she could see that. Clearly he had never met a decent barmaid. “It says much a king who does little to learn the name of those in his house.” Hands move from her hips to cross over her chest. 

❛ Many an EVE I have drank alone. Yet here I stand…UNHARMED. ❜ His voice muffled against the glass he pressed to his lips. He did not bother turning his attention to the intruder. He hardly CARED who it was. Friend or foe, they had disturbed him all the same. And he would not take kindly to it.

❛ What a  p o o r  excuse…to seek my council…it is what you have come for, is it not ?? ❜

The STOIC visage of the elvenking paces idly within his chambers, with only the faint trickling of MOONLIGHT through distant treetops lighting his path. A goblet is clutched in his hand, an open wine bottle half empty resting upon his table. He had hoped for SOLITUDE, and disappointment floods at the detection of approaching footsteps.

❛ I do hope for your sake this is a SERIOUS matter. ❜ He murmurs, raising his goblet to his lips.

          She knew the Shire inside and out, but the world beyond, it was hard to get a sense of her bearings. However where she did not expect to find herself was here. “My apologizes.” Her gaze falls onto the glass and the bottle of wine. But her time at the Green Dragon, she could guess well enough his state. 

         “Do you plan on staying out all night in the rain?” There is a smile she tries to hide as she stands in the doorway, a hand on her hip. Truly it is hard to be cross with him, even when she tries, and sometimes she wonders if he knows this. And those few rare moments where she was, he always found a way to make her smile in the end. “Or will you finally come inside?”
