“BECAUSE i'm not worried about it.” he tries to keep his drawl as casual as possible, not wanting to further worry the male. it’s true, anyways. he’s not worried about it because he knows he’ll be fine in time. 

“–relax, Suga-kun! I can swim!” He waves off all of Sugawara’s  concerns. The guy’s much easier to ignore than Akaashi who speaks with steel in his voice. A voice that is hard to ignore.  “–oh, hey! Check it out–I found a crab! You gotta see this!  C’mon!”

      disgruntlement over his face isn’t softened at the presence of a stranger. specifically, it’s the exact cause - he’d made positive there wasn’t anyone around before trying his hand at a new shooting technique. nothing serious, no hopes of transitioning to it or anything, but out of curiosity at the mechanics of it after seeing it’s effortless execution many times over. his first few attempts were solid misses, but none managed to nail him right in the face after ricocheting off the rim unlike this one.

      “yeah, i’m fine,” nothing broken or bleeding (he can hope for no bruising to explain with fake excuses later), “can you just forget you saw that?”

it’s completely unsurprising to him that the other wishes to keep this little fumble a secret. koushi knows that he wouldn’t want anyone to find out about any of his own fumbles. with how often he accidentally received the ball with his face when he first started, he sympathizes.

the grin he’d worn as soon as THE BOOK was mentioned DISAPPEARS in a flash, brows furrowing and lips pursing in a pout. he’s not against asking for help but he definitely doesn’t want to and he certainly doesn’t appreciate the jabat his height (though he’s nearly the same height as daichias it is.)

"What are you doing? No, stop!"

"Is that blood!? Oh god."

"What are you doing down here by yourself?"

"Where did these cuts come from?"

"There is a bullet in your arm! We need to get you to a hospital!"

"Oh my god. W-Wake up! Oh please wake up!"

"Hey, are you okay?"

"You know, you should have said something! You're lucky I was here."

"Oh god, you just almost died!"

"Look out!"

"Here, take my hand. Everything's fine. Just hold on to me and keep moving."

"Don't look down."

"Take my hand!"

"You're going to be fine. I promise."

"What the hell happened to you!?"

"Hold still. It hurts worse if you move."

"You idiot! What do you think you were doing out there!?"

"Don't move."

"Oh Jesus. It sliced right across your face. No wonder you can't see."

"Hold on. What's the matter with your leg?"

"You're lucky to be alive right now."

"Oh, god. I didn't sign up for this. _______, I'm not a doctor!"

"I thought you were dead."

"We are going to die."

"Run!"

"Can you stand? Are you okay? Are you even conscious?"

"________? ________, you need to get up right now. Can you do that?"

"You've got a blood stain on the back of your shirt, and I really hope it's not yours."

"My god, I thought you said you could swim! What you did right there is called drowning!"
