Having snatched the girl up in the air by a tight grip to her shirt, she let Artie see her true face â the face of the one she murdered â and the last thing she would ever see.Â
Without another thought, the ghost flung the girl off the edge, down to her doom. This was it. This is what she wanted, having been craving it since she woke up at the bottom of the damn cavern, dead. She knew exactly what Artie had done to her, and now she could finally get the revenge so she so desperately deserved.
But yet, everything hit Louise at once as she watched Artie plummet, the sound of her own name rung in her ears. Every slumber party, every mall trip. Every time that Artie grabbed her hand for comfort in a creepy location and Louise gave a comforting squeeze back.Â
All that heartbreak that Louise was sure she had tucked away since the betrayal came rushing back in. Years of friendship had been washed away by that night. Why did it seem like she never knew? She didnât want to kill Artie! Regret coursed through her body, and with that same lack of hesitationâŠ
Louise jumped. She reached out and snatched Artie up into her arms, tears beginning to roll down her face as the illusionary stalagmites dissipated into solid ground. She held the other close to her and landed, before falling to her knees and burying her face in her shoulder, choking back sobs.Â
             𧥠even as she fell, artie was in stunned silence. tears clouded her vision and everything seemed to go in slow motion for her. the ghost chasing her all this time was the very person sheâd been desperately searching for all along. louise was a ghost? and on top of that wanted to kill her? why? what happened?
                artie had no time to really think about it, since she was falling to what she was sure was her death. instead she just couldnât get the image of louiseâs ghostly face out of her head. her best friend. very much a ghost and very full of rage. directed at her. it was shocking. so shocking, artie almost didnât realize sheâd been caught mid fall.Â
                louise? a familiar and at the same time foreign feeling wrapped around her. it was definitely louise. though the thought that this was some crazy nightmare crossed her mind, she instinctively held onto her dear friend. or as best as he could with one working arm. artie pressed her face into louiseâs shoulder, tears soaking into the fabric of the specterâs jacket.Â
                artie almost missed louiseâs apology, having a hard time hearing through her own sobbing and hiccuping. she didnât even realize she was crying this badly. nevertheless she did hear it. she tilted her head upwards, staring through big nearly blinding tears at her friend.Â
              it was difficult to form words but she managed it. through a sob and a couple hiccups. âw-why? you caught me. youâre here.â fat watery tears rolled down her face uncontrollably as she continued, âlou, i missed you so much.â
