“Uh… Hades.” He paused, most people got a little freaked by the whole death god thing, he didn’t know how she’d take it. “The, uh, death god.”

“Hades,” she said slowly. Then she said, “I can see ghosts. And where people died.”

“She’s not wrong if you are Bianca reincarnated.” He shrugged, “Our father… my father isn’t human.”

“Right.” She’s at Camp Half-Blood, after all, although how she can be half-blood when she’s got both parents accounted for doesn’t make sense. “Who is he?”

“Not really, no. There are a few mortals who seem a little more in-tune to that sort of thing but most other mortals think they’re crazy.”

“Mortals,” she said slowly, turning the word over. “Mrs. Dodds said my body was mortal but my soul wasn’t.”

“Rebirth. It’s like when someone dies and goes to heaven they can choose to live another life.”

“But people aren’t supposed to remember their past lives.”

“They may say that, but we can test the theory.  Do you need some advice, Bianca? What can  I do to help?”

“It’s--Jessie. Bianca is--I’m--actually that’s what I wanted to ask you about. Can we go somewhere... private?”

“Bianca opted to be reborn…” He paused, “It’s possible that… I mean, I’m not really sure how that all works.”

She closed her eyes, shaking her head.  “I--have no idea what you just said.” Yes, she did. But she didn’t want to admit that part.

“My elder sister, yes. Whom you look a lot like.”

She was quiet a long minute, weighing that. “I see you in my dreams--as my brother.”

“Oh… uh, sorry, I thought you were someone else…” he paused, “Uh, yeah, I am.”

She swallowed. “Um-- was Bianca your sister?”

“Bianca?”

“Bianca?” The name seems familiar. “Uh--no, I don’t think so?” She hesitates. “Um--are you--Nico?”
