“Today a full grown adult walked up to one of the birds and just grabbed it. Just two hands picked it up. I was like sir you cannot do that. He just shrugged and kept holding it. I asked if it was at least for the vine - or i guess the tik tok - and he said he just wanted to see if he could do it. He literally wouidn’t let go of it until security came.”

“Oh, that’s just terrible! The poor bird must have been so afraid.”

“Patience? Never heard of her,” Chloe joked. “What kind of clients? Do they at least pay you well?”

“I’m a photographer so anyone looking to get photos taken. It’s not too bad for pay generally. I run my own studio though, so that takes a lot.”

“I know it’s not really my business, but that situation sounds like a nightmare. I’d get outta that as fast as I could if I were you.”

“Oh, it’s not so bad. Just requires a little bit of patience. Clients are clients, after all.”

“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” Wendy said wistfully as she stared down at the city from the rooftop she had made herself comfy at. “I come up here for some peace sometimes…or when I get the sudden urge to write something…..What brings you up here?”

“Similar reasons, I suppose. I like the quiet and the night air feels nice.”

Noah flipped a ten, face up. “How about now?”

“Uh -- No. I think I had better not.”

“Living in a magic bubble where nothing can hurt us,” Katherine added on, moving to sit down besides the other woman. “We can all get nice little tans, but nothing to severe so we don’t end up with skin cancer. And birds would chirp softly in the distance on a constant loop.”

“Oh, that would be lovely. Also never having to deal with those tans peeling would be nice. And having as much sunshine as we want. Or as many rainy days as we want.”

“It’s quite a beautiful day, isn’t it?” Katherine asked as she spread her hands out to enjoy the light breeze flowing through the park air. It was a perfect summer day - the sun was shining and it seemed like nothing could go wrong. “Oh, I wish we could just stop time and stay in a day like this forever.”

“It really is.” Tessie smiled, leaning back and basking in the sunshine on her face. “That would be lovely. Just never have to worry about anything bad happening and enjoying the peace.”

“Okay, so you get two cards to start and then you tell me if you want another one.”

“Alright, um -- I’ll take another one.”

“Well, for now we’ll say I’m better at it than you, but don’t start calling me a master flower-whisperer. I’ve been wrong before.” Not that he liked admitting that.

“Alright, noted. I’m sure mastering such a thing would be quite a feat on its own.”
