Finally started to get somewhere! RC Mart are having a sale on some of their car kits, including the Tamiya TT-01E for only $86USD + delivery, cheaper than anywhere else! So I figured I'd get it as I need all the parts in order to build the car I'm planning. It was either the Subaru BRZ and XV or this Nissan to choose from. Considering I don't like the new AE86 and the XV looks like crap, I figured I'd go with this one has it would have the "racing" components.
So hold tight and before you know it (7-30days...) we should have a rolling chassis of the MX5 Madness Beast!
Having been quite busy with Uni and starting a business with a mate, I decided to grab one of these little conversion kits to save a bit of time! Its a 3Racing M chassis conversion kit for a TT-01. Although I don't have a TT-01 yet, I plan to muck about with it first before getting the essential bits and pieces. Still being posted, I've already got some plans on what I'd like to do with it. Firstly, don't need that front diff so it can go, and in its place, that metal motor mount, tilted 90degrees to sit the motor up a bit higher but more realisticly positioned. I'm not sure whether I'll have the gears at the front or the rear of the motor but either way it could be a little bit fiddly with the front end, but, being an engineering student I say, "Bring it on!" Looking at a few brushless motor systems, want to put as much power in there as possible without killing too much battery power! If you have any suggestions feel free to throw them my way! Still going with the MX5 body so watch out for a little crazy M Chassis beast!

Salvaged a few bits and pieces of an old 18th scale Short Course truck that I have. The width of it fits the shell perfectly but I figured it'll be a bit too "cheap" for use in this build. Instead, saved the knuckles and hubs to use, the suspension arms won't be overly had to build. However, I fitted the wheels that I have trying to measure things up and I won't have enough room for the upper linkages without it hitting the rim. I could get deep dish rims (which I'll get regardless) and then some M06 or Cup Racer hubs which will fit perfectly. But unfortunately, it means more waiting around for parts and things! Feel free to help me out! There's a donate link in the About page, every little dollar counts, and then you can always send me some of your old parts too to go into this "Frankenstein" 100% custom build!
Stay tuned!
