okay. basic bg: The main place this au is set in is Essare Threit (SR388 good lord me from a year ago sucked at coming up w names😭)

A couple important places of note are Daiban, Norion, Urtraghus, and Aether.

Daiban: a collection of settlements that came together under one banner when threats from Urtraghus began growing. Currently the safest place on Essare Threit from the vicious Urtraghusians. The military capital is Norion, where a council has convened to make decisions since the king has fallen ill. Recently, corruption seems to be growing within the council, though no one has any concrete proof as to who could be leaking military secrets.

Urtraghus: home to the Urtraghusians. They jealously guard any information about their home in the south, but everyone knows it’s where Phazon originated, though no one knows how.

Aether: the capital city of the Luminoth. The last line of defense from Urtraghus along the southeastern border of Daiban.

Other general info

Humans can’t use magic in this au, only other races can such as the Urtraghus or teiflings. This makes Samus unique in her ability to both steal and use magic. Phazon is pretty much what it is in the games: a dark mysterious force that augments one’s own abilities while making them crazy.

The Daiban military has fallen into a habit of hiring people who can wield magic to help combat the Urtraghusians and these hired hands are referred to as Hunters.

I didn’t feel like drawing the chozo bc they’d essentially be the same as their game counterparts. Bird people who use magic instead of tech. idk it felt redundant to me. But there’s still the Thoha and Mawkin tribes and Raven Beak is still apart of this au (mostly bc I love how evil he is❤️) but idk if I’ll ever EVER get to that part LOL.

I alluded to it with the Metroid page but metroid 1 and 2 are essentially background information, and the real story would start after Samus kills all the Metroids. She returns back to Zebes to find Ridley has slaughtered the remaining Thoha (the Mawkin all left w Raven Beak months ago after a big fight about what to do with the Metroids and the Urtraghusians) and Samus makes it her one goal to kill Ridley. I haven’t exactly figured out how to work it into the story but the last baby metroid is still alive and running around somewhere but Samus has no idea where it went.

Also the infection amongst the Metroids was the X parasite (different than the games im just too lazy to make my own parasite okay). It was actually created by Queen Urtragh but it had some unintended side effects and made the Metroids crazy instead of weakening them so they could steal a metroid. Anyways. The Urtraghusians are able to recover some of their failed parasites to potentially use in the future.
