Last night I was treated to a few minutes of an incredible sunset. I didn't realize it until later, but I caught a light pillar in this image as well! My family got a bit restless yesterday and needed some fresh air. We drove out to Catalina State Park, a favorite of ours. I'm usually there around November so it was a treat to see it so green. When we arrived I was worried that we would have to turn around. There were so many cars there. We parked along the street and walked down into the wash and had our own private beach. A few others walked by in the hours were were there but everyone kept a good distance. It was really easy to stay away from others with this wide open space. Rainbow over the playground. After a full gloomy day at home, I saw the sun was peeking through the clouds for a moment and walked outside to a park nearby my house to capture one of the most vibrant rainbows I've ever seen. I hope you guys are all doing ok out there. I'm going to do my best to keep bringing the beautiful things in the world onto here. Sunset on Power Road . Yesterday I went up to Phoenix for a job interview and wound up sticking around for sunset. I went all along salt river checking out a few spots that were new to me as well as returning to some favorites. Right before sunset, I took off along the road to catch some of the sunset colors with the saguaros along the road on the way back to town. In hindsight I probably should have stayed with the amazing view I had at the water users recreation area but I found fantastic views in all directions. This one here is one of my favorites from last night. I will get around to sharing some more soon after I edit some shots from the amazing photo sessions I had last weekend. . Yesterday I went to visit Agua Caliente Park. The park was shut down for a while while they emptied the pond for restorations. They deepened the pond and resurfaced it for water retention. The restoration project is still underway for example the island to the right here is going to have a bridge that crosses through this scene. The water is going to return to its normal pond-like state. I really enjoyed this surreal look of the new water it has a faux tropical color. It really looks like this. it's really great that this park is reopened because it's a very popular photo shoot spot. Speaking of which I am booking now for photo sessions! Benedictine monastery reflection. On a day similar to today I went out and looked for puddles to capture reflections in. I came across a puddle in a pothole across from the Benedictine monastery and it was perfect to line this shot up. If I was to try this today there would be a giant orange fence in the way. This weekend I went on a few hikes through the desert in search of some great desert spring scenes. This one is a stand out favorite. From a walk around picture rocks road. The flowers were more sparse than last year but it made for a nice long outing trying to find scenes like this. This photo is a focus stack meaning I captured shots with the flowers in focus and shots with the saguaros in focus and combined them in Photoshop. https://ift.tt/3cPYtaD

Sunset at Black crown. Continuing a streak of sunsets this weekend I captured this photo tonight at Black Crown Coffee. It's been too long since I've seen a sunset here. This place has so much history for me and I really don't make it out to this place enough anymore. Back when it was Safehouse I used to regular this place and wound up meeting my wife there And many great friends. The spirit is still there but most people, like myself, have quit smoking and whatnot.
