While Mystic Falls held a definite sense of actually mysticism, Ray Steele generally found the town fairly boring. Sure, there was the compulsion to partially blame for that, but she wasn't aware of that. She just always felt as though she was stuck in a loop. Her job wasn't particularly fulfilling. If you were to ask her about friends she couldn't really name any. She had been on her own for quite a while, but mostly not by choice. When family disowns you, and you move to a little known town, life can be fairly lonely.
Spending time in the town square had become a regular occurrence for Ray. Today she enjoyed the sun shining on her face as she looked up towards the sky. Usually the space on the bench next to her remained empty, but today she noticed the soft sound of someone sitting. As she turned to them, she smiled softly. She didn't want to interrupt them, but if they said something first maybe she'd make her first friend here.
