Raw Dog Hunting Company

Spent Christmas break at Disneyland. Found these 2 bickering back and forth like usual. Kids thought it was awesome. I thought it was expensive.

So I was on my 2nd stand of the morning, had just made my 2nd series of calling when I noticed some magpies brush hopping to my left about 200 yards. I scanned with my binos looking for a yote coming in. Magpies will giveaway a coyotes position by hopping from sagebrush to sagebrush instead of flying. So I knew a dog was close by. I put my glasses down and caught movement right in front of me at about 50 yards. This dirty bugger was giving me a nasty look, I know he could see me, but for some reason didn't spook. I remember thinking "hey buddy you'd better get that look off your face before something bad happens to ya". Well, he didn't and something did. Big gnarly male. I love dogs with a lot of black, this one even has black shins. Beautiful critter, saved a bunch of deer and antelope fawns for sure. Another look at my 2015 whitey. Long main beams and gnarly cape. This ol boy liked to fight, he had scars all over. Should make a sweet shoulder mount. Got one more big game hunt left, we'll see how we finish the year. Momma wants more meat in the freezer, who am I to complain?

Current situation. For a guy that loves the peace, quiet, serenity and oftentimes loneliness of the outdoors. This is the polar opposite. It's day 3 of non-stop noise, waiting in lines, smelling other people, touching strangers, and then more noise. It's amazing what people do for fun. We are here so our kids can experience the wonders of Disneyland and thankfully they're having a blast. I can't wait to get back to sitting on a coyote stand. Alone.

This was one of a 4 pack that came in. Multiples are always fun, but always nerve wracking cause you know that things are about to get crazy. I setup on a ledge above another ledge, my mistake, lost sight of the dogs for a second. One made up and promptly died. 2 disappeared without a shot fired. One reversed trail and I got it to stop twice. Missing both times. 😡😡 grabbed my trophy and headed to the next stand. Don't let the ugly paint job on my gun fool ya. It's a killin sumbitch. Most of the time!

DRT. Hiked a long ways in from any road, made a couple stands and heard a couple yotes howling even further in. Made it in another mile, had the worst setup in coyote hunting history, sun setting right in my face, wind blowing straight into the sun, no cover. This female showed up exactly where I didn't want one to. Long story short, I got lucky, she didn't. The ol 22-250 put her down without a flinch. #ilovecoyotes #furdown #coyotes #hellyeah

Did a little predator hunt competition in western Wyoming over the weekend. Buncha good dudes and lotsa laughs. Got lucky and took first place. Course it was my bday too, you always get lucky on your bday dontcha?

Gotta love a gorgeous sunset. I know that over the last few years I've really come to appreciate them more. It's funny what you take for granted.

He's gonna look good on the wall. I'm gonna need to put my lucky Raw Dog hat on a plaque too at some point.
