In a true effort to stay creative, I've made a commitment to make at least one complete piece a week for a month. First up is this friendly feline fellow #wip

I picked up a black paper pad, liquid #goldleaf paint and a ton of other new goodies from this morning's massive hobby lobby haul. What other way to dive into a new medium than with some talented golden #lipizzaners?

A quick study in gouache on bristol paper. This little bird is helping me deal with an minor annoyance... I'm at a point where I realize I need to push myself harder. Expand beyond my comfort zone to feel like I'm not just wasting my time. It's evident in my style, which has transitioned from neat, detailed and strategic to something more loose...languid...but with a touch of confidence--I don't use pencils to start. Without caution, I just dip my brush into the pigment and hope for the best. Don't know how long it will be until I reach the point I seek but this soft little fella has played his role well.

There are several rafts of ducks and gaggles of geese near my house. I enjoy watching them and my old man feeds them during his lunch breaks.
