I love Hubert von Vestra so it makes me sad that a lot of people don't fully understand his character. A lot of the fanon I see for him is "oo sulky murder boy willing to do anything for the good of his master/empire" but that's just...not the truth. Don't get me wrong, Hubert will do anything for Edelgard but by the end of Three Houses (assuming you've gotten all his A supports) he's also willing to do anything (so long as it doesn't hurt Edelgard) for at least Byleth, Ferdinand, and Bernadetta.
Hubert is, first and foremost, motivated by love, and that's the main thing people forget about his character. All his actions, in the story and his supports, have love as their primary motivation. He kills people that are a threat to Edlegard because he loves her. He buys Ferdinand tea because he loves him. He avoids Bernadetta for a long time because he scares her and he loves her so he doesn't want her to be scared. Hubert is just,,, a little ball of homocidal love and he's so valid for that.
