Some trips just hit right the moment you step off the bus. For our Travel Writing and Photography class, Baybayon ni Agalon was exactly that. We went in expecting to just shoot some content for a grade, but honestly? We figured out real quick that this place was something else entirely.
The first thing that grabs you is the breeze, just that crisp, salty sea air that instantly makes you drop your shoulders. And the view was massive. No elbowing through crowds of tourists, no loud speakers, no rush. Just the rhythm of the waves and a wide-open sky. It didn’t matter if you wanted to wander off alone with your thoughts, sit around laughing with a huge group of friends, or just completely zone out, the vibe just adapted to whatever you needed.
Someone suggested the fishpond, so we lined up for the fish spa. If you’ve never had a dozen tiny fish nibbling at your toes while you’re trying to look cool in front of your friends, it is pure, ticklish chaos!!! (It's Php50 for 10mins. only)
We also checked out the oddly soothing pigeon house, it was terrifying at first because it was placed way far from the crowd but it's definitely magical because it flew as if you are their Goddess.
One of the most enjoyable parts of our visit was roaming around and encountering the different animals that call Agalon home. From the majestic ostrich and colorful peacock to the curious monkeys, and fascinating reptiles called "Bayawak", every corner offered something new to discover. Seeing the eagle perched proudly and the owl quietly observing its surroundings made the experience even more memorable.
It felt like a mini adventure where nature and wildlife came together, giving us a chance to appreciate these beautiful creatures up close.
What we loved most was the way this place naturally brought people together. We came thinking we’d spend the day taking photos and videos for the memories, but we ended up creating even better memories with the people around us. The peaceful ambiance and natural surroundings made it easy to slow down, enjoy each other’s company and simply be present in the moment.
Whether we were sharing stories in the cottages, laughing over random conversations, or walking along the shore, every moment felt genuine and unforced. The environment had a calming effect that made the outing feel less about capturing the perfect shot and more about enjoying the experience together. In the end, the photos became reminders of the memories we made, not the other way around.
Baybayon ni Agalon isn't trying to be a flashy, luxury resort and that’s exactly why it sticks with you. It’s just a peaceful, easy space to breathe. It reminded all of us that you don’t have to book an expensive vacation to find a place that completely resets your brain. If you're looking for a getaway that actually feels like a break, this is the spot. We're definitely going back!
