Rindou Haitani ♡
“Did the match start yet?”
Rindou hurried over to the plush couch you sat on, leaning against the armrest. Your eyes had originally been glued to the TV screen before looking up to face him in his black tank top, with his tattoo snaking around his arm and peeking out from the neckline, hidden beneath the fabric.
“No, but it’s about to,” you said as you watched Rindou quickly settle beside you. He sat with his legs open, his knee pressed against yours, and you leaned into it.
“Did you bring the drinks like you said?”
“Yeah, but shit, we’re running low on the good stuff. I could only find one bottle of beer, but it’s fine. We can share.”
You nodded, not opposed to the idea, as Rindou quickly became fixed on the wrestling match on the screen. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira was on, and Rindou absolutely loved that man. Sometimes you even debated whether he might actually love him more than you with the amount of praise and respect he had for the guy.
You weren’t into him or the sport all that much, but it was something Rindou genuinely loved, and you adored seeing him share his interests with you. To see the usually prickly, cold Haitani show this side of himself to you made you feel special. Even if it was nothing extravagant, it felt like home.
The thought of it made you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. You leaned against Rindou on the couch, showing some affection, only to be disappointed when he didn’t show any sort of acknowledgment toward your gesture, not even putting his arm around your waist to hold you closer or looking your way.
He was too consumed by the flashing lights and fighting on the screen, watching his favourite fighter beat down his opponent as he swallowed some of the beer to get his blood pumping before setting the bottle down on the coffee table in front of him.
You let out a low sigh as you became convinced you had totally lost the man. Looking at his side profile and the way his round glasses perched on his nose, they reflected the TV and exactly what he was looking at. Not you.
You decided that if you were going to sit down for this match, which knew how long it would take, you might as well try to get drunk while doing so. Reaching out for the same bottle Rindou had placed on the coffee table, you held the cold glass in your hand, feeling the chill seep into your skin. It felt refreshing. Looking at the condensation that surrounded the bottle from the body to the neck and the lip, you reached out, pulling the sleeve of your shirt over your hand to wipe the top off, removing the water condensation before holding it up to your mouth and taking a sip of the cold alcoholic beverage.
Rindou kept hearing your shuffling and fidgeting over the sound of the TV. He picked up the remote at his side to turn the volume up, then turned to look at you, ready to tell you to keep it down and sit still, when he witnessed an even bigger disturbance.
He watched as you wiped the rim of the bottle, the same bottle he had drunk from. Cleaning it as if there had been anything dirty there to begin with before taking a sip.
Rindou paused, looking at you, his eyes now narrowed slightly in accusation. His attention had completely left the match.
“What the fuck was that?”
The remote he had picked up now landed on the coffee table with a thump as he adjusted his position on the couch, facing more toward you. One leg hung off the edge while the other tucked beneath him, one of his arms settling behind you on the couch’s backrest.
“What? In the match?” you asked, blinking in surprise at the sound of his voice while holding the cold beer bottle in your lap.
“Are you fucking with me?” he asked, his eyes narrowing further with a predatory gaze. His voice sounded as though you had insulted him as he leaned closer, looking down at you from where he sat.
“No?? What happened??” you asked, now even more confused as you tried to lean back, but the armrest of the couch and his arm kept you trapped between them. There was nowhere to go.
“I’ll tell you what happened,” he said as he pointed at the beer bottle in your hands before snatching it away.
He then downed half the bottle in seconds before setting it down. Then, slowly, like a predator, he approached closer to you. His hand came up to pull back the locks of your hair, forcing your head back. As you opened your mouth in response to the suddenness, he pressed his mouth to yours, locking lips before spitting the drink back into your mouth and forcing you to swallow it.
His tongue explored your mouth with reverence, memorizing each inch of it, meeting your tongue and lapping against it as he swallowed the sounds of your gasps, relishing the warmth of your mouth. Your hands splayed across his broad chest in a feeble attempt to push him back, but he grasped your hands too, holding you in place before he finally opened his eyes and pulled back slightly, panting as he looked down at you.
“You wiping the rim of this thing after I drank from it as if we don’t make out every day and share spit, the same utensils, food, or… fuck it.”
“Rindou…”
“You won’t get it through that stubborn head of yours without a proper lesson.”
He then lunged at you, pressing his body between your legs as he pinned you back against the couch and aggressively kissed you.
Different sounds filled the living room, all of them overpowering the sound of the TV, which had long since been forgotten.
Ran Haitani ♡
The lights were flashing and the music was thumping as the low lighting of the club brought the nightlife into action. You stepped inside, your heels clicking against the hard floor, your purse in hand as you felt Ran’s possessive hand around your waist, holding you by his side. His hair was down, making him look even sharper with a smug grin as he looked down at you, guiding you into the club. He wore a black turtleneck with a sleek black jacket on top, making the blonde highlights in his hair stand out even more.
A group of your friends had already arrived earlier and saved you guys a spot as you all wanted to let loose this Friday night before the weekend. Ran guided you to a seat on one of the round, curved club couches near the others before sitting beside you himself. He intentionally put his arm around you to make it known you two were together, even though everyone was well aware of it by now.
You sat close and watched the lively night press on as a waiter came by to hand out shot glasses, starting the night strong with a few shots. It was drink or dare, and Ran participated gladly as you cheered him on when it was his turn.
“Okay, man. You can either kiss the person to your left or take a shot.”
Ran snorted at the audacity of the guy, seeing his intention since you were on his right.
Without hesitation, you felt Ran’s hands grasp your waist tighter before lifting you up effortlessly and placing you right onto his lap. He tilted his head to the right so your face was now to his left as his arms slithered around your waist, holding you close. He felt the rise and fall of your breathing as you flushed at his actions.
Always there to show off and make a scene.
As for Ran, he couldn’t help it. He loved to show you off. It was his favourite thing to do because he got to see your reactions. It turned him on, and he relished every one of your emotions.
You felt yourself heat up as your group all had their eyes on you now, as if you had been placed on a pedestal while sitting on Ran’s lap. You then felt a hand come up under your chin, gripping it and tilting it back, forcing your head upward to reveal the column of your throat. At the same time, Ran’s thumb pressed into the side of your cheek, forcing your head to face him as he slowly trailed his lips up your neck.
You swallowed, feeling as if a light feather was tickling you while his warm breath brushed against your face. Ran slowly closed the distance, kissing you. His lips moved against your still, stunned ones before you melted into the kiss, returning the addicting touch of his mouth and craving it even more. Ran held you tighter on his lap with his other arm still around your waist. You felt something lightly poke at you from underneath.
Just when Ran was teasing your bottom lip, urging you to part your lips and let him in, and you finally opened your mouth, he broke off the kiss, leaving you a panting, flushed, flustered mess with your heart racing and wanting, needing, more.
The crowd around you cheered as Ran let go of your face and leaned back against the backrest with a low chuckle escaping his lips.
“There, happy?”
“Damn, Haitani. You know you could’ve just taken the shot?”
Ran slowly shook his head, his fingers pushing back his long hair.
“I’m not risking a hangover that’ll ruin my sleep. This was easier,” he said, finishing with a pat to your thigh before giving it a brief squeeze.
As the night went on, you felt salty about how dirty Ran had played you, especially in front of an audience, to say the least. Despite how annoyed you were with him right now, you still wanted more of him and hoped something would happen after you went home.
For now, to cope with the embarrassment, you had a bit too much to drink and let that restless energy out on the dance floor with your girls.
Even under the blinding lights stretching from ceiling to floor and through the thumping sound waves, you caught Ran watching you from the distance. He sat back on the club couch with his legs spread comfortably, his eyes glinting with predatory intent as he watched you from head to toe, almost undressing you with his eyes.
You eventually felt your feet grow sore from dancing in your heels. Despite everyone else still being on the dance floor, it was a reminder that you needed to work on your stamina.
You approached Ran, who was alone on the round couch with a wine bottle in hand. He sat up a little straighter when you approached. You were still annoyed, especially seeing that shit-eating grin on his face.
“What’s wrong, doll? Miss me?” he asked, looking up at you as you loomed over him.
You gave him a side-eye.
“Why aren’t you out there?”
He laughed lowly, taking a sip of the wine before setting the bottle down.
“And miss out on this view? Not a chance, sweetheart,” he said, his voice carrying an undertone of hunger as he watched your face, still completely unamused.
You sat beside him again.
“Oh? Someone’s pissy despite smelling like alcohol. Here, have a taste of mine. You’ll like it, and hopefully it’ll loosen you up more. It’s strong, though, I warn you~” he said, sliding the bottle toward you on the table.
You looked back and forth between him and the bottle, irritated by his casual attitude as if he were completely innocent. You couldn’t stand that smile. That same smile with those words coming out of his mouth. That same smile that had been kissing you all over and then left you hanging with the same bottle he had drunk from.
You took the bottle with little patience to order another drink and placed your hand over the mouth of it, wiping it clean before taking a sip.
Ran watched intently, his expression shifting from smug to absolutely territorial at your actions.
As you noticed he was no longer looking at you with those teasing features, you saw how his gaze kept shifting between the bottle and you. You connected the pieces, which made you grin instead as you held back a laugh.
“Pfft…”
“What’s so funny?” Ran scoffed as he took the bottle back, trying to casually pass it back to you.
Before drinking again, you wiped it with your hand once more.
“Stop that.”
“Stop what?~” you teased.
The exchange went back and forth a few times, with Ran drinking and you wiping the bottle before taking a sip yourself.
Ran took the bottle again, but this time he didn’t just drink from it. He traced the rim with his tongue, lapping around it as his violet eyes pierced into yours with intent.
You were caught off guard by his actions. The teasing and laughter died in your throat as you watched, unable to look away.
He continued running his tongue around the rim in slow circles, saliva gathering and dripping around the neck of the bottle. Ran then gave a few slow licks over the bottle’s opening, making sure you were watching before he suggestively stuck his tongue inside the bottle.
His tongue swirled around the inside before moving in different motions, from slow to quick, all while his eyes remained fixed on you. He repeatedly slipped his tongue in and out of the bottle, never once breaking eye contact.
You felt yourself shiver despite the club not being cold. Was it Ran’s intense stare? Was it the way his tongue moved? The implication that you could be that bottle instead made the heat within you rise. You instinctively clamped your thighs together as your breathing became short and shallow.
Ran finally pulled away from the wine bottle and once again slid it back toward you.
“I’d like to see you clean that before drinking.”
You were baffled. Absolutely baffled.
Ran’s grin only grew wider. The audacity of this man. All that just so you wouldn’t clean the same bottle he drank from.
Oh, he really was going to be the death of you.
Shinichiro Sano ♡
“Phew…”
Shinichiro sighed as he straightened his back, standing tall after spending the day working at his motorbike shop. He wiped away the sweat and grime from the day’s work, taking off his heavy-duty work gloves covered in oil and dirt.
He wiped his forehead, where sweat had gathered along his hairline and eyebrows, before stretching his back after being hunched over while working on bikes for so long. He placed his other glove down before grabbing the zipper of his work suit, the protective clothing that kept his actual clothes from getting dirty.
The small humming noise of the zipper filled the quiet shop as he pulled it down by the teeth. Stepping out of it brought him even more relief as he sighed, feeling the cool air against his slick skin.
He was about to pick up his phone and text you to ask where you were, but as soon as he reached for it, the small bell above the shop’s front door jingled, signaling someone’s arrival.
Shinichiro’s head immediately snapped up, ready to tell the next customer that he was going on break.
But then he saw you.
A smile instantly spread across his face as his eyes traveled over your appearance from head to toe. Your perfect eyes, your perfect smile, your perfect face. You were everything he had ever wanted.
A part of him, deep down, felt incredibly lucky that you were his partner. Yet another part, buried even deeper, felt guilty that he was the one beside you, wondering if you deserved someone better.
But instead of letting those thoughts consume him, he used them as motivation to become the best partner he could be for you, because you deserved nothing less.
As you stepped into the shop, your shoes made a light patting sound against the wooden floor. You held up a takeout bag in your hand.
“Hey, shouldn’t you be on break by now? I brought lunch, if it’s not too much trouble.”
Shinichiro immediately shook his head and walked toward you, taking the weight of the bag from your hands. He looked over you with a soft expression before leaning down and kissing the top of your head.
“Not at all! I wish you had texted me sooner that you were going to come visit. I would’ve taken you out to eat somewhere instead. You didn’t have to do all this.”
He gestured toward the bag as he spoke, feeling genuinely grateful for the time and effort you had taken to think of him and spend time with him, even if it was only during his hour-long lunch break.
He led you to the back of his shop, where he had his little private office. Unlike his main workspace, it was much nicer and neater, with air conditioning, a monitor where he ordered parts for the shop, a comfortable couch for his breaks, and a small table where he could sit down and relax.
He placed the bag of takeout down on the table before sitting down and patting the space beside him, signaling for you to join him.
You began opening up the bag, taking out the containers as he asked what you brought.
“I got you some Japanese curry rice,” you said, opening the container.
The warm curry filled the small office with its comforting aroma. The thick golden sauce coated pieces of tender meat and vegetables, resting over a bed of fluffy white rice. The smell of spices mixed with the warmth of the meal, making it the perfect food after a long day of working.
Along with it, you brought a cold bottle of barley tea, its refreshing taste meant to balance out the rich meal.
Shinichiro’s mouth watered as he caught a waft of the food in the air, his stomach instinctively growling in the quiet room.
You immediately stopped and looked at him, and he looked back at you with a small flush of embarrassment.
“Someone’s worked up an appetite.”
“Guilty, haha.”
He rubbed the back of his neck before you both dug into the meal, enjoying it and savoring the quiet comfort of each other’s company.
Shinichiro went on about how his day at the shop went, telling you about the bikes he worked on and the things he had to deal with. In return, he asked about your day too, listening intently as you spoke.
He opened the bottle of barley tea and took a sip to help wash down his meal while continuing to listen to you.
You kept talking about your day and how you saw his younger siblings, Emma and Mikey, at the playground with his grandfather, having fun together.
As you continued talking, you felt your throat becoming dry from all the conversation. You reached over for the same bottle Shinichiro had been drinking from and, using one of the takeout napkins, wiped the top where he had drunk from before taking a sip in between talking.
Shinichiro, who had been listening so intently without distraction, suddenly became hyper-focused on what you had just done.
He watched as you wiped the bottle before drinking from it, and his mind immediately began spiraling.
Does my breath stink?
Is she distancing herself from me?
Did I do something wrong?
What did I do?
Is she mad?
Is there something on my face?
His thoughts continued spiraling until he finally snapped out of it when he felt your hand resting over his.
“Are you listening to me? Are you okay? You zoned out…”
Shinichiro startled before quickly shrugging it off, laughing nervously as he rubbed the back of his neck again.
It was a habit only you and those closest to him had picked up on, one he always did when he was trying to hide something.
You immediately noticed.
“Shin…”
“No, no, it’s fine.”
You gave him a certain look, the one that always told him not to bullshit with you. He tried avoiding your stare, unable to look back into your steady gaze, but eventually, he caved.
He always did with you.
He knew you had so much power over him, and honestly, it was unbelievable.
“Okay, okay. It’s just that…”
“You?”
“I…?”
“You wiped the top of the drink where I drank from before drinking it yourself.”
He admitted it with embarrassment, almost ashamed that something so small had gotten into his head.
“Did I do something? Does my breath stink? I’m sorry if it does and I’m making you uncomfortable. Please tell me what I did wrong. I’ll make it right. Please, Y/N.”
You were alarmed by the confession that left Shinichiro’s mouth. All the overthinking he had managed to come up with in such a short amount of time left you almost speechless.
You tried talking him out of it, but every time you started a sentence, it wasn’t enough to catch his attention. He continued rambling, consumed by his own worries.
Eventually, you put your takeout down.
Then suddenly, you clasped both of your hands around his face.
The sudden action startled him again, and he looked at you with wide, concerned eyes.
“Shinichiro, I just didn’t want my lipstick to catch on the edge when you wanted to drink it. That’s all. You’re nothing like what you just said. You’re not gross, and you didn’t do anything wrong.”
Shinichiro stared at you, his face heating up in your palms as your words finally reached him. The more logical explanation slowly began replacing all the thoughts he had created in his head.
“Really…?”
He asked quietly, still sensing the smallest bit of doubt lingering inside him.
You pulled him forward, bringing him closer until he ended up leaning over you on the couch.
He gasped slightly at the unexpected movement, quickly bracing himself on his elbows and holding onto the couch above you so he wouldn’t crush you.
Before he could say anything else, you pressed your lips against his.
The taste of the drink from earlier filled both of your senses, and all of Shinichiro’s doubts disappeared instantly. His mind focused only on you and the reassurance you had given him.
His hands found your waist as he held onto you, returning the affection with more confidence as the two of you stayed wrapped up in the quiet back room of the shop, completely unconcerned about the next customer who might come looking for assistance.
