When the town had been told to evacuate, Harper hadnât been able to bring any extra clothes, obviously, so as she had left the safety of her apartment, she had been wearing her grey sweatpants along with the matching over-sized, long-sleeved shirt. To begin with, she was pretty certain that it would just be a regular storm, so she didnât think any of it, but then it picked up and soon, it was obvious that this was more than a rainstorm. On the bridge of her nose rested a pair of her glasses, as she had been reading, a book that she had to leave behind in her bedroom. Harper didnât make it to either of the safe-zones; the clocktower or the fire-department though, so she decided to seek shelter at the Hangmanâs Tavern and it seemed like she hadnât been the only one doing so. Harper had been sitting on one of the chairs in the back of the tavern, listening to the rain slamming against the rooftop and walls surrounding them, when someone approached her space.
âPlease, sit! Make yourself at home. Seems like weâre stuck here for a while.â
Swallowing the last gulp from the fifth glass heâd had since arriving to the tavern, Beau let out a heavy sigh. He needed to stop drinking, but there seemed to be little he could do given the circumstances. It wasnât like he could just leave, and there were too many people around - few of which seemed interesting enough to tempt him in conversation. The southerner was reaching his limit. Surely the storm had to let out sooner rather than later, but how much longer was he expected to just wait there? Deciding against another drink, he decided it was time to take a turn around the tavern. Perhaps there was someone somewhere who could cure his boredom. Or possibly more. Wary of the many people, and two alphas, surrounding him, Beau internally groaned. It had been a while since his last feed from a human, and he was a little restless. He had practically zoned in on the pulses quickening around him. Relax, Beaufort. This isnât the time. Smoothing down his suit, he began walking around, stretching his legs, when heâd noticed a girl seated quietly in the corner. For a moment he fought on whether or not to approach her. Sure, he couldnât get a nibble with so many people around... But that didnât mean he couldnât have a little fun. A winning smile taking to the Georgianâs features, he approached her only to be invited to sit down. Perfect.Â
âWell thank you,â he started in a low drawl, âI wouldnât want to invade your space, maâam.â Taking a seat across from her, he let a charming grin slide over his lips. âI suppose youâre right about beinâ stuck here for a while. Reckon it could be the whole night. We can only hope that weâre in good company, for however long weâre trapped here.â He looked her over a second before adding, âI donât believe Iâve had the pleasure... Iâm Beau. And you are?â Â
There were more than enough people within the tavern capable of being useful, despite the choice to stay here, he wasnât foolish enough to think itâd last. However, knowing that both pack alpahas were within the building with him didnât at all shirk his built in need to do something, the automatic instinct of those meant to lead, even if he no longer did.. Zach wasnât by any means scared or worried about the prospect of death; but drowning didnât seem like a good way to go, not today. Perhaps that alone, mottled with the uncertainty of where the last remaining members of his own pack were pulled him from his usual place in lingering shadows. âThat door isnât going to hold when the water rises.â The bar wouldnât hold against flood waters, no on with any wits about them could believe as much, even with the water already slowly trickling in through the sliver of space between the floor and rich mahogany.Â
Taking a gulp of whiskey, Beaufort let out a sigh as he placed his glass down. It was crowded in The Hangmanâs Tavern, uncomfortably so. It wasnât the best shelter from the storm, but heâd had little choice in the matter. When things got bad, and the citizens were being advised to seek a safe place, the tavern was the closest to him and heâd made the choice to go inside. Mostly because of the booze, though that seemed now to be little comfort during the stressful situation. People were worried, nervous that things were going to get worse. He couldnât blame them - it certainly seemed like shit was on the verge of hitting the proverbial fan. Taking another slow sip, he heard the comment coming from the other male and shrugged. âI guess we all gotta go sometime,â the southerner responded in a dry tone. âDoesnât seem like thereâs much else we can do but wait this whole thing out anyway. Where are we supposed to go when theyâre sayinâ to stay put?âÂ
âAnd so the plot thickens.â Beauâs gaze flickered towards the other, blue eyes painted in curiosity. âJust when it seemed like East End couldnât get more interestinâ - in comes our own personal messiah.â The vampire let out a gravely chuckle, his full attention now turning to his companion. âWhat do you make of all the fuss? Think heâs really gonna put an end to everythinâ or just be a let down? Personally... Iâm in the camp that thinks he ainât gonna deliver.â

At first, the water came as a surprise, but he took none of it seriously. âWell then-â He shook his head, letting the water fly everywhere. â-thatâs actually refreshing! Who knew.â
Seated at the bar with whiskey in hand, Beau had turned just in time to witness the incident. The corner of his lips turned upwards into a hint of an amused grin, but he concealed it behind a sip of his drink. âIâm not entirely sure what just happened but I reckon itâs not been your night,â the southerner chuckled. âOr were you just that in need of a shower?â
âYou have a very nice face.â Jin set the pencil down on his moleskine notebook, a half-sketched jawline, one eye and a smudged nose visible on the lined paper. âYou should let me paint you.â
With a raised brow Beau turned to the other male, attempting to contain a smug grin at his words. âWell thank you, kindly,â the vampire said in a low drawl, pulling his mint julep back to his lips for a long sip. âBut that depends - how long would it take? âFraid Iâm not the most patient of people.â

A southern drawl snares Remiâs attention and coaxes the turn of aureate features in search of the source; the pace of a pulse increases as her gaze lands on a set of stunning features, a grin coiling her mouth in a manner feline. âI look that pathetic, hey?â with Julyâs heat coaxing a wardrobe of little clothing, the blemishes staining limbs were visible with ease (road rash rubbed the swell of thighs raw, bruises puckered shoulders violet), provoking Remi to garner more lingering gazes than she was accustomed to. âIâm location scouting, so pretty much meandering at this point. Though I have been meaning to pop by a hotelâ the Crimson Ridge? Have you heard of it?â
âNot pathetic, no - never,â Beau said with a gentle shake of his head. Tucking a loose curl behind his ear, he tried to ignore the humming of her pulse. He wasnât about to let his hunger get the best of him. You can find a snack later, Beaufort. Help this young woman first. Resigning to the thought, his brows rose at her question. âCrimson Ridge? Yeah, Iâm familiar with the place.â A smirk graced his features, the man placing his hands on his hips and standing a bit taller. âI just so happen to be close acquaintances with the owner, actually. Why do you wanna see that place, darlinâ? I hear itâs just a musty olâ house, nothinâ real special.âÂ

hard liquor or beer?
âHard liquor, always.â

A scent filled the air and Beau had completely lost track of what heâd been doing. His eyes closed and he took a whiff, a long dragged out sniff of the slight breeze rolling towards him. It was sweet, the kind of smell that caused his mouth to water slightly. It had been a while since he partook, and the vampire couldnât help the thirst taking over him. He needed to quench the desire that was slowly overtaking him. Eyes opening, he began to follow the scent, much like a bloodhound on a trail. An eagerness swept through him, and it took everything in him to not speed up his pace. Whoever was the owner of that lovely scent was not too far off, and Beau didnât need to frighten them. Tongue poking out to moisten lips, he rounded the bend in pursuit.Â
He stopped almost immediately when he realized who he was targeting. Just a few yards ahead was a short blonde woman, her hair quivering slightly in that breeze that tumbled through. He caught sight of her neck, peaks between golden curtains, and it only caused his hunger to grow. Charm her. Get her to trust you. Then take a sip. Just a sip, compel her and let her go, his mind told him and he began walking towards her. His most charming grin was already taking to his features, the man smoothing out his button down as he drew closer, but the expression vanished when the sun caught onto something else. You cannot harm a girl in a cast, Beaufort. All at once, the need vanished and his lips tugged downwards in a frown. âMaâam?â he called out, approaching her cautiously. Hunger be damned, the moment he caught sight of the bruises and cuts he felt terrible for wanting to make her into brunch. âI couldnât help but notice you, ah... Hobblinâ along. I was wonderinâ if I could help you get somewhere?âÂ

54: Do you have trust issues?
âI donât think you can have âtrust issuesâ if you donât trust anyone from the get go.âÂ
58: Have you ever slapped someone in the face?
âI am a true southern gentleman, and a southern gentleman neednât use violence to get his point across. ...That beinâ said, I have been known to, uh, âlose my composureâ every once and a while... I suppose the answer youâre lookinâ for is, yes... Maybe once or twice.âÂ
66: Were your last three kisses from the same person?
âMost certainly not... And thatâs all youâre gettinâ from me on the matter. A gentleman never kisses and tells.âÂ
56: Do you own something from Hot Topic?
âDo I look like the kind of man that shops at Hot Topic?âÂ

magda-kaminski:
The silent stride of the person beside her made Magda glance over curiously, but it was the soft curve of syllables that made her smile. Her arms were laden with wares for her home, a lamp stuck out haphazardly from her elbow and a bag draped from her narrow shoulderâ despite walking to the store, she had misjudged how much she could comfortably carry. âI would love that.â Juggling the lamp and a bagged up set of couch cushions, she shimmied them over to the other vampireâs hold. âChivalry truly isnât dead.âÂ
Beau graciously took the items offered, easily holding them in his own grasp as he walked beside the other vampire. âYou can thank your fellow immortals for that,â he quipped as he shuffled the lamp into the crook of his elbow. âIf it werenât for us, then chivalry just might have seen its end. They really donât care for manners the way they used to.â He shook his head at the thought.
zcldac:
âI got it, I got it.â She lied, struggling to keep hold of the array of different items she was carrying towards the check out counter. Why didnât she never cave and get a basket? She was about two seconds away from dropping most of it when he offered to help, but she had a stubborn streak. âI do this all the time.â
âAre you sure?â It slipped out before he could stop himself. Beau wasnât the type to push, but it hardly looked like she âdid this all the timeâ. Unless she got a weird kick from carrying more than plausible. The corner of his lips twitched upwards as he watched the struggle continue. âNot that you donât look it, maâam but... No, I canât even lie. You really donât look like youâve âgot itâ.âÂ
