Any tips for wannabe voice actors/impressionists? Like how to hold a tone or keep yourself from straining?

The most helpful thing I do is to do a voice you feel you are capable of doing and that it doesn’t put too much on you for a starter.

For holding tones for me at least, I usually do vocal warm ups with the voice by having a conversation with myself or make random noises to see where it can go.

For straining? It’s probably gonna happen? But I usually drink some water or if you like hot tea than that would work too, but the main thing is to not over work yourself, but train if needed!
