Rat Patrol Bike Club Chicago

The Junk psrade itself happened on a beautiful sunny ‘sconsin day. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and the diesel clouds were rolling by. A record number showed up for the ride and we won at losing. Hooray Junk Parade!

Oh, gee. Oh, wow, oh, gee. Its time for junk parade again which means a fun trip to ‘sconsin to see rat patrol jeeferson. this year there was a few new bikes, including a big push cart and a little trash trike. There was lots of fixing and building and, of course, maxmom food.

Brunch! Brunch! Brunch! Ange cooked her little heart out for a yummy yummy brunch at MOBO and then a miracle occurred! a truck pool!

Under yet another underpass the swing bike relay race commenced. Chains fell off, people were tackled, no one won.

Balloons were magically rode across the Purple People Bridge for the first ever mario cart style balloon poppin’ game.

With the temperature and humidity reaching 104 degrees no one was sad when the downpour started and the party moved under an overpass for some pinatas and dancing.

Down in Cincinnati they spell Rat Patrol funny and have a warm St. Ratrick’s Day they call Moshtrosity.  Kicking off the weekend was a poker run, teams rode up and down all the hills to compete for playing cards to see who can get the best hand at the end of the night dead end street party.

Brunch was great this year with a ratty flea market where everyone traded all the crap they dumpstered that was too nice to thrown back in the alley but not useful enough to want to keep. Trades we’re made, stuff was outright bought! BOUGHT! There was real good food too. And kiddie pools. And poke. And giant foot jenga. Like I said, it was really great.

Day of swimbike: act three, scene one. Then we rode to the lake! The were games of poke, games of chicken, swimming(duh), and some shenanigans a big green ball. The sun started going down and we rode on to more swimventures. 

Day of swimbike: act two, scene one. The ride rode up north and met up with the guerrilla flotilla which happened to be on the same day! There was a lot of premium hanging out by the river and some rats even decided to try and build a boat on the spot. Like many Rat vessels, it failed spectacularly,

The Day of swimbike Scene one, act one. Everyone gathered in front of the department of fleet management for an awesome array of kiddie pools, slip’n’slide, and hot grill action.

Swimbike started with a casino night this year. Everyone was a VIP and the house won an awful lot. There was live entertainment, watered down drinks, terrible snacks, and even worse company. All the makings for a splendid,and successful, Rat Patrol event.
