I don’t know who she is…and, I’m shocked that anyone auditioned for Belle since Adam and Eddy specifically asked Emilie to BE Belle. They loved her from Lost and they believed she’d get along well with Bobby (which they needed since they needed immediate Rumbelle chemistry). Em didn’t audition, either. Â
If I remember correctly there were casting sides for Belle and that is were most spoliers for Skin Deep came from after a fan was able to get their hand on them. Also Emilie did talk about auditioning for Belle and other actresses doing so too here:
I was initially told in the castings - to me and to the other actresses who auditioned - not to try to recreate the Belle of the Disney version. Of course, it’s the same character, the same past, the same story, but I was specifically told not to try to talk like her or to move like her, or to act like her, but to bring my personal touch. So for Skin Deep, which was originally the only episode I was supposed to do, I relied 100% on these instructions and on the script, which was beautifully written-probably my favorite script of all seasons-but very difficult emotionally. I also spoke to Bobby (Robert Carlyle, the interpreter of Rumple, ed) who gave me his point of view, and he had a great perspective on the subject, and I went with my guts by playing it as I felt it.
Might be that they called her and asked her to audition or they weren’t able to find the right actress through auditions and thought of Emilie and she auditioned so ABC and/or Disney could sign off on the casting.
