Currently, there is a plan for a new curriculum for senior high students, and although I won't be able to experience it, as I will be graduating. I would like to share my thoughts on the matter.

So what is this new curriculum about? As a summary, the core subjects will be reduced to five, and the number of tracks will be reduced to two. The core subjects are now Effective Communication, Life and Career Skills, General Mathematics, General Science, and Pag-aaral ng Kasaysayan at Lipunang Pilipino, and the tracks are now Academic and Technical Professional. Work Immersion will be increased from 80-320 hours to 320-640 hours. So now that we've got those clear, I'll now get onto my thoughts.

I'm honestly in between about the new curriculum. From my understanding, students will be able to choose from a select cluster of electives and will be given the freedom to choose multiple at the same time. As to how many electives a student can take, I can't really find much, but if anyone does end up finding it, it would be nice to share. I worry that the workload that will follow will be a lot, but I can't really say much, as the amount of workload may vary per subject. I do find it great that it will become an option to be able to focus on electives that align with a course you plan to take in college, as, admittedly, I was torn between two tracks.

I would like to note as well that I am curious about the extension of work immersion to be longer. As it will now last for almost a month. I did find the time given to be enough, but I suppose this will help students more as they'll be more familiar with their chosen field.
