I really like the colours you get on magpies, what at first glance looks like a other black and white bird is actually full of these wonderfully iridescent greens and purples

This year I’m choosing small, quick paintings instead of large projects.Three children, summer holidays, everyday life, travel, and work leave little room for long studio sessions — so I’m painting moments instead.The first sketch in the series: a glowing summer sunset.I hope this summer brings all of us a few more warm evenings and a little more light.

Sometimes even daisies feel sad. Beneath a heavy summer sky, they continue to bloom despite the wind, the rain, and the shadows of passing clouds. For me, this painting is about quiet resilience — about the beauty that remains even in moments of sadness.
