In earlier ages, everyone had faith in God. People worshipped God according to the Holy Scriptures. However, with gradual deterioration over thousands of years, spiritual dilution occurred. Slowly, the holy texts also became adulterated. Selfish priests started propagating false and arbitrary knowledge according to their own whims. People began going on pilgrimages, keeping fasts, and worshipping stones, and as a result moved further away from God.
All these methods of worshipping God are forbidden in the holy Bhagavad Gita and the Vedas. This caused a gradual decline in the benefits achieved from the worship of God, which further weakened people’s faith in Him. When people stopped receiving the benefits of worship, their belief weakened and atheism increased. They started thinking, “If we only receive the fruits of our karma (actions), then why is there a need to worship God?”
However, it is not right to abandon God. After all, what puts life into the cell in a mother’s womb that leads to the formation of the human body?
Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj has explained and proved that God exists and that His power exists. To know more, read the sacred book Gyan Ganga.
