eep!

Lily had the habit of getting lost in her mind when she was thinking about a story to write and clearly she had somehow managed to make it inside of a building she wasn’t suppose to be in and paid for it by getting drenched. “Uh yeah, thanks I would appreciate that. I would really like to not catch a cold.” Not like she can but still.

“Of course, of course. Come, come” Rainer waved her to follow him back outside. The sprinklers were never on for very long, as to not drown the plants, but on long enough to soak through any poor soul who wandered in. 

As soon as she was out of the downpour, Rainer flicked his wrist in her general direction: the water lifting off her like a sheet. Instead of letting it drop to the ground, Rainer turned it into a few dozen butterflies that fluttered his way, each disappearing into his skin as they landed on his palm. 

When the last one was absorbed, Rainer put his hand down and pulled in the water on his skin and in his clothes too- leaving him dry. “So, how can I help you? You seemed like someone on a mission when you came in”

“I don’t mind at all.” Soa says with a happy expression, arms spreading out as the water poured down over him. He drops his arms to his side after a minute, and then stepping towards the door.  “I didn’t mean to come at a bad time.” He admits as he steps outside of the greenhouse. He doesn’t bother with drying off.

“I grew up in the ocean so water is actually quite pleasant for me.” He smiles, and then decides to introduce himself. “I’m Soa, by the way.”

The older brightened, waiting and enjoying the water for that minute too, then once the other offered up an explanation Rainer practically bounced on the balls of his feet as he moved around the tables lined with plants: approaching the other to shake his hand.

“Brilliant, it’s always nice to meet someone else who likes lots of water” Rainer blinked when the sprinklers turned off having finished their job. The water saturating Rainer’s skin and clothes filtered away, absorbed into him leaving him dry. “I am water so it’s really pleasant for me too, are you... hm Atlantean? They’re the only people I know of that live actually in the ocean rather than on it.

Nice to meet you Soa. I’m Rain to most, Mr.Adler to students: appearance is no indicator for age here so I won’t assume which one you are”

ᴏᴘᴇɴ sᴛᴀʀᴛᴇʀ

Petra was sitting on a bench in the park, a stone in one hand. She was fiddling with it, turning it a bout and changing its shape. First an orb, then a cone, then something which seemed a mini statuette that was quickly squished back into a flat disk as her mind wandered. The fact that anyone around would take an interest in what she was about hadn’t crossed her mind til she glanced up and saw someone looking at her. 

“ What ? ”

Rainer held up his hands in a sign of peace. He pointed to her stone, and then with a polite smile pulled up a bubble of water up from a puddle in the ground; he turned it into a miniature hand that waved at her.

“Sorry, just saw what you were doing and thought it was... um, nice” He shrugged. “I do that too. Turn my element into different shapes when I’m thinking: any reason you’re sitting alone here?”

“You’ve come just at watering time- come outside, I can dry us off”

yes... irene did name him purely for the abilities she knew he’d one day have, and the fact that the first thing he did when his powers manifested was turn into rain... mentions: @shiftingmystique
