one flesh one end, bitch ☠️
In light of recent revelations, I think it would be great if Warrior Nun fans DIY’d Ava’s internal monologue from season two, and made it as gay as possible.
May I present instalment one of Ava’s Sapphic Soliloquy…
Living online has got me thinking thoughts, and I’m here to make it everyone’s problem.
Algo por lo cual estar agradecida (Something to be grateful for)
“This Is a Mirror, You Are a Written Sentence" - Original art by Luis Camnitzer - Photography and Testimonial by Sophia Estrada
Warrior Nun lifted a burden from my shoulders by making me laugh with Camila’s innocent eagerness, by making me cry with Beatrice’s beautiful coming out story, but especially by making me feel hope with Ava’s new perspective of life. It handed me a mirror, and I was seeing myself for the first time under new light. These women and their stories, with their diverse backgrounds and different languages, made me feel like I finally belong somewhere.

there's a sketch on the wall over Shannon's desk (far left, potentially the most recent addition to wall). some funky linework going on around the forehead here. wonder what that might be.
(I swear I remember a BTS pic of Shannon's desk other than the one my icon is from but who knows. if someone has a better resolution hit me up please)
the sketch gets knocked to the floor when Ava halo blasts the shot away from bea. it ends up very strategically framed in the following shot
something about sleeping near that large of a chunk of divinium, something about Shannon acquiring knowledge that had never been raised by a Warrior Nun before. something about Shannon being in Ava's dreams, and had Reya been in Shannon's?

Not people saying “Fandom has always been like this” in that vent post I made. No. It hasn’t always been like this. Fandom has NEVER been like this until recently and if you were in fandom pre-tumblr purge, pre-twitter, pre-netflix boom, pre-tiktok….then you would fucking know it was nothing like this.
We still had the drive to create. We still sold prints and charms and made zines…but it was never like this.
The introduction of streaming, binge shows that drop all at once, tiktok and vine RIP i still love u vine but you were the beginning of a particularly ugly era) creating this bite sized, quick paced ‘content’ era of creation and it bled out into fucking everything else.
Fandoms didn’t die down when the show ended or the season was over. You didn’t mass unfollow artist, writers or moots just because they changed fandoms. There wasn’t this need to please the algorithm in order for your posts to get seen by people and enjoyed.
Fandoms used to last YEARS. Star Trek is literally the oldest running fandom out there and you got people in there that could care less about the new stuff and still have been happily prancing through their fucking fifty year old fandom today. Hell, even SPN after all it’s fuckups and shitshows has a dedicated fanbase STILL creating tons of art and fic.
There is no patience anymore. No calm feeling of taking in fandom and friends at a pace that which doesn’t make you stressed and is still fun.
Do I blame fandom for this? Of course not, but people are complacent with it and start changing their vocab to accommodate and end up making the situation so deep it cant be fixed.
We call Art & Fic Content now, completely stripping the value of what it is to a level of consumerism instead of personal entertainment & community bonding.
Let OP talk, they’re absolutely right.

When your entire existence embodies a middle space, finding a home for yourself is incredibly tiring and you often arrive on unfamiliar shores which are missing key ingredients for your own survival. However, you carry on.

Pain is what made me a sister warrior
Testimonial and cover art by @alex6502
Warrior Nun is the show that gives a life lesson to those who don’t see how much they hurt the people around them by saying a few words. Warrior Nun is the show that should continue sharing the stories that are so much alike. Religious or not, queer or not, we are all people who love. And loving somebody shouldn’t be a crime.

Just a quick, little (but important) Testimonial about the power of discovering who you are through queer representation in TV shows such as Warrior Nun!
Worthy Is the Lamb
Art and Testimonial by Jen (@rainymonday126)
Watching Beatrice’s coming out scene didn’t miraculously heal me of all my religious trauma, but it did lay before me a path of forgiveness and self-compassion. I am still learning: that my worth does not hinge on a set of achievements; that my queerness does not need to be watered-down to make it easier for others to swallow; that being gay is not a flaw for which I need to compensate. My queerness, my love, my strength–they are what make me wholly and wonderfully me.

There's no shame in it
Testimonial by Kate Artwork by @/kidmeep (Twitter) / @/crw.png (Instagram)
While digging through that internalised shame over the last few years, I threw myself into queer media & books. Reading all the fiction books I could with queer characters. Watching all the queer shows. Warrior Nun was the first show I truly connected with. It wasn’t the first show with sapphic representation, but it was the first one where I truly felt seen; Beatrice carried around her internalised shame for years just like me. Hearing Ava say “What you are is beautiful” and Camila say “There’s no shame in it” reaffirmed to my inner child that we no longer carry that shame around.
