koito seeks his genuine approval and would do anything for him if he got it — but it's not what tsurumi wants from him. he needs to have complete domination over someone's mind — like the one he has over tsukishima's. that's why, when later koito learns the truth, tsurumi starts rejecting him. he can't build a genuine relationship of trust that koito wants from him so desperately. tsurumi can trust only those people that he bound to himself through lies and manipulation, like tsukishima, as it is the only way to have a guarantee that they won't leave him and would do anything he wants them to do.

Sewing machines are operated by *people*. Knitting machines are operated by *people*. Yes lots of the process is automated but you cannot tell a machine "make me a t-shirt" or "make me a knit cardigan".
