Now that we're done with that, here's what you can expect in this blog ↓

What does she owe the others (apart from Gangle and maybee Kinger) when nobody helped her when it was obvious she was being abused?

Sure, we had that talk between Ragatha and Kinger about giving herself a break, but it doesn't take away the fact that the show frames her as the one in the wrong for reacting to Jax the way she did because he was provoking her and had abused her for so long.

Now, I wanna ask, is it just me, or is the show presenting Kaufmo as dumb and not as close to Ribbit like Jax is to make him look more innocent (and give more importance to/center Jax even more)?

When Jax started distancing himself from Ribbit, Kaufmo didn't do anything or question it, even when he was present. He responds to Jax with, like, one word, which comes off as him being dumb or lazy, and he was clearly friends with Ribbit before Jax was, but after Ribbit's abstraction, Kaufmo says that Jax was especially closer to her (bullshitttt).

It's just another excuse for the story to center Jax and avoid any conflict. Jax is more important and Kaufmo is not complicit; that is what the story seems to tell you.

If the story wasn't such a coward to follow through with handling serious topics, it could've used Kaufmo as an example of how passivity/avoidance towards abuse happening to other people to 'protect your peace' can make things worse or how men not involved in the abuse might not see it as a problem because of how normalized it is for men to treat women as if they're dramatic or "too emotional" for being affected.

Another thing that could've been done with Kaufmo is to make him an ally. Kaufmo would've been more skeptical of what Jax says, tried to help Ribbit see that Jax won't be helped if he doesn't want it, and tell her she should question Jax more based on the story he shared about accidentally killing his mom, but Ribbit would be stubborn about it because "he's our friend". He might even try to confront Jax and tell him that what he is doing is wrong. But I think Jax wouldn't take him too seriously and use his clown avatar to mock him. And even if Kaufmo's confrontational, he's not very bold and still might be passive after making accusations (don't wanna make him too good).

To add, I think that Ribbit is the type of person to look for the good in other people despite their flaws (which is not entirely a bad thing) and can be naive if she hasn't seen others being "bad enough". Jax wasn't cruel when he first came to the circus, and he only treated Ribbit badly after he confessed to Ribbit what he did to his mom. This is my reason why I kinda don't agree with Ribbit being similar to Pomni because Pomni was there when Jax was being abusive to Ragatha and Gangle but did nothing and still went after Jax, and in Ribbit's case, the cruelty was only being directed towards her and she ends up abstracting.
