Remembering Mary de Rachewiltz (R.I.P.)

On how she came to devote an important part of her life to translating her father's Cantos:

"One day Babbo [Ezra Pound] arrived in high spirits with an Italian literary magazine called Prospetti, of which Curzio Malaparte was the editor. It contained Luigi Berti’s translation of the second Canto. Babbo was pleased, not so much with the translation, I think, but with the event. He liked the daring format and color of the magazine, a feeble reminder of Blast. I eagerly started to read the Canto in Italian, but Babbo took the magazine away from me and said: 'Suppose you try and see if you can do any better.' And so my task began."
