RUN, LITTLE RABBIT

so, i’ve been on hiatus for a while. recently, i’ve been missing writing, so i’m going to try to move to low activity ! i’ve downsized things a lot, and i’m going to do things very slowly.

i have redone my muse list, and it’s a lot smaller now ( muse list is now located in my new pinned post, as are my updated rules ( no big changes, just rewriting ) ) . my blogs ( aside from this one ) that are also going to be active are listed in my new pinned.  ( you’re welcome to follow whichever you want to ! i don’t mind crossovers ! i just want to have fun ! )

i’m going to be starting fresh with threads, too, for the most part ( the exceptions being some threads that i’m probably going to post replies to soon ) . unprompted things are welcome, and i’ll reblog some p.rompts soon. 

my activity is going to be very slow, and my replies may not be as long as they have been before — but i’d like to do at least a little writing ! i’m going to just have fun, and try to not stress myself out with anything.

When the light moment falters, he almost doesn’t realize what caused Kit’s change of mood. Clearing his throat, he whispers, “I didn’t mean to worry you, I—”

I’m expendable. You are not.

But then the Prince is drawn away, and Lark can’t find the right words to finish with. He can only dutifully follow, and allow his curiosity to peak, as they move closer to the crystals. Crystals? He’s never seen anything like it. Lark reaches out to hover a hand over one of them, as well. The closer his hand gets, it almost seems like the structure hums a musical note.

“They are. They’re… otherworldly.” He almost touches it, directly, and then utters a curse. If he allows himself to be too reckless, and if Kit does the same, he won’t be doing his job. “Wait. Let me…”

A pebble is thrown at the crystals, and bounces off of them harmlessly. Security measure accomplished!

The undertones of Lark’s intentions manage to strike Kit’s chest in a way that makes him ache ; Lark didn’t have to finish his sentence in order for Kit to assume. Walking away is his best option to avoid the truths he despises knowing. No one life should be more expendable than another. Not when they are both loved.

Hand reaches out to touch the crystals — but Lark calls him away. He waits, allowing his knight to conduct whatever checks he deems necessary. It is all for his safety … even if some of the methods are more entertaining than serious.

Lark smiles back at him, wiping off his hands. “You laugh, my liege, but that rock might have been what was standing between us and certain death!” He does have a point, though. Maybe he should touch it first, to be safe?

He is thankful for what he has, he supposes. Some time with Lark is better than none. With Lark, he feels freer. Safer.

I ran out blindly, on my own … It’s foolish, I realize afterward, but in the moment … I was hit with desperation. ” He lifts his head, but still looks away. He cannot look at Briar, not quite. He knows he is being honest, being vulnerable … but he trusts Briar. He hopes she knows that ; hopes she knows he is seeking her because he wants to seek her out for her presence.

It was liberating to finally be free from that jar he called a prison. Perhaps it was dropped on its way to some market, or simply forgotten by whoever last held possession of it, but he was glad to be free. Gimini's body and wings glowed as he took cautious steps from the jar's lid, only to flicker away and reveal that he was a cricket.

" Oh m-man, I-I really dodged a bullet with that one... "

Gimini mutters to himself, sighing shakily as he dusts himself off. It was technically a near-death experience for someone of his small stature, so he was thankful that he was given the chance to live. He yelps a bit at the sudden voice that greeted him, turning his head around and seeing that a young boy had crouched down to get a closer look. It was just a boy, a harmless boy... hopefully.

“ Mm - mm. ” Kit hummed a denial and shook his head. He shuffled a bit, shifting from being crouched down to instead sit sidesaddle on the ground. “ It doesn’t look like a very nice place to be. I know I wouldn’t want to be put into a jar … Whoever put you there in the first place ? I - If that’s okay to ask. ”
