Hello, everyone! My name is Marina, I’m from São Paulo - Brazil and I’m here to tell a little bit of a story and show you my work.

For the past eleven months, I’ve been working behind The SubCute brand. It’s been a real journey to me to create from scratch a whole company. I struggle with mental illness, sometimes it took me hours to get out of the bed and do my job; sometimes I threw up in pure anxiety. It took me a lot of time to get all the little bureaucratic parts done (and I still get some loose ends). I learned a lot and I still do, every single day, a little bit more. Sometimes it sucks, like, I haven’t been paying my own bills and getting ANY (I mean, zero) money for four months straight. I don’t go out in the clubs, I don’t enjoy a beer with a friend, I don’t do anything except work and study.

This brand came from the bottom of my heart, I love subcultures (specially the goth scene) so much. They’re part of who I am. Creating this Baphomet’s plush and this brand is a small gesture to retribute the love and caring what the scene has given me.

I know everyone is going through some shit right now, the world is falling apart and nobody has money anymore. But if you can, please, buy our product. It’s our first. It’s going to pay our way out of debts and we can continue to create alternative products.
