idk why a lot of analysis here talk abt shinichi pre-conan like he has absolutely zero people who understands him and who he's comfortable with. i'm not denying that being conan definitely widen(?) his circle, gave him new genuine connections, and just overall developed him as a person, but there is a *certain* person who understood him and who he's comfortable with from the start. the difference now with other people is just that some know his identity, some don't. and one reason he doesn't tell is bcs he loves that person which could be anyone that he loves like that, so it's not abt the person itself (don't take this as justifying nor condemning conan abt not telling the one person he loves, i'm neutral abt it). has conan became more open, even in a way, towards that person? yeah, but to say that shinichi started out with ZERO genuine connections feels so dismissing of the people im his pre-existing relationship.

accidentally spoiled myself. rita and deb died. the only characters (aside from dexter ofc) i care abt. oh well.

if i had a nickel for every time i see a character named lila with a british accent is introduced as someone from a program i'd have two nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.........

and if i say a character that i genuinely do love and is involved in one of my very OTPs that i defend a lot is actually a gary sue 🤨
