she enters her bedroom for the first time in months, lugging her suitcase onto the crisp white bed sheet with her last ounce of energy. the vase on the windowsill has no water left; all it holds now is a decaying rose. she opens her window and the setting sun beats across onto her dead petals. amidst the brown and crumpled flower, a minuscule spark begins to form. but it vanishes within the same second. she pauses, then whispers, “so what did i miss?” part 8/12 of a planetsupport poetry series “story of a girl”
