The scream startled her, causing the shorter student to jump and squeal in surprise. 

A step taken back as Makaira raised her arms on reflex. 

Fun of? She wasn’t making fun of anyone! 

Looking over at the cookies a sudden realization clearly hits, hands raised to cover a gasp as she turned back towards the other.

“I-I didn’t, I..It wasn’t..”

 “I swear I wasn’t making fun of you! I-I thought it would be cute! I..I like making themed treats and..and..” She felt absolutely awful, no wonder Ami felt ridiculized. 

“I am so terribly sorry..” 

Blinking at the sudden question the girl blinked, the small plate of treats she’d so enthusiastically made to share with everyone now placed over the kitchen table. There is obvious confusion in Makaira’s soft large eyes as the brunette tilts her head slightly.

“Do you not like sweets?”

Maybe she should have just made cupcakes, or something simpler. “I can make you something else if you want!”
