Here I am, finally making the long overdue Asahi top 5 :D

1. The spike that gave Asahi his confidence back. I’ve just watched this scene again and I actually cried a little. I’m still so incredibly fond of this scene. The build up to the spike cut a hole through my heart, from all his flashbacks, to Noya’s choked-by-tears voice yelling, to Suga’s face, to everyone’s reaction to it…it’s just perfect. Because “in volleyball we don’t say I love you, we say: SUGAAAAA ONE MORE, and I think that’s beautiful”.

2. The mop fixing scene. As you all know, this is my favorite Asanoya moment too. It’s an extra scene that comes only in the first hq movie, in which Noya is fixing the mop that was broken during his fight with Asahi. Noya can’t fix it alone because “it’s just harder than I thought” and Asahi stepped in (I should be the one to fix it, right?) and they fixed it…together. It’s such a beautiful metaphor of how their relationship (and Asahi’s confidence) is finally, completely, restored. I cry every fucking time.

3. I don’t plan on losing to him. Ah, the strong, powerful and confident senpai Asahi finally made his appearance here. He knows he can’t be left behind, but he actually makes an effort to help other people too. Especially Tsukishima, since they are the two players that feel Hinata’s overwhelming power creeping in the most. He’s so good at helping others because he himself had to overcome so much to be where he is now :’) the summer training camp was such a good development arc for him too!

4. I’m the ace, but you guys are the heroes. HE LOVES AND VALUES ALL OF THEM SO MUCH (ಥ﹏ಥ)

5. Of course, scared Asahi always the most precious Asahi
