You guys don’t understand. I will give up anything to see Shadow being a smug little shit in movie 3. ESPECIALLY when he’s still the bad guy.

Literally one of my favorite things to do when rewatching Sonic X, specifically during the shadow saga, is pay attention to Shadow’s expressions during certain scenes because they are so freaking amusing.

Whether it’s trouble he’s deliberately causing, Eggman explaining how the Eclipse Cannon works and how much damage it can do, or he’s just being cocky about himself, he’s just like this about it;

AND ITS THE FUNNIEST THING EVER, HE’S JUST SO PROUD AND IT NEVER CEASES TO AMUSE ME.

SONIC MOVIE 3 PLEASE, GIVE US SOME SMUG SHADOW.

I don’t see a lot of people talking about the fact that Shadow didn’t actually seek revenge out of his own volition. Gerald literally brainwashed him while he was in stasis without his knowledge or consent.

A huge part of Shadow’s character arc was the reveal that, unlike what he’d believed, Maria didn’t want him to avenge her and the people on the ARK. Gerald actively altered Shadow’s last memory of Maria so Shadow would destroy the earth. It was always Gerald who was consumed by his lust for revenge and he projected all of that onto Shadow. Literally the moment Shadow realizes that the real Maria actually wanted him to save and protect people he resolves to save the earth.

I don’t know whether or not they’ll keep this in the movie, but I hope so. Personally, Shadow realizing that outside forces have been controlling and manipulating him his whole life and learning to choose his own path sounds more interesting to me than the umpteenth “vengeance bad”-story.

I did a small post about this on Twitter. But it's a real damn shame that we don't see more Overwatch 2 Lucio art. You know I think (I should say what's LEFT of ) the fandom tends to hyperfocus a bit on the fact that Lucio is a DJ and celebrity. It's a cool part of him for sure, but remember the guy is also a freedom fighter. He started a whole ass revolution in Rio and kicked Vishkar out OVERNIGHT. This boy has gotta be having vigilante/spy adventures at certain points...and no one seems to ever realize that. Except OW2 which shows how Lucio is single handedly taking on Null Sector in Rio like it's just a casual Tuesday. We need more action hero Lucio art. He IS a canon action hero. It boggles me we have so much drawn for all the other characters - even the lesser knowns - and so little of one of the iconic OW heroes. It's kind of crime in itself.
