Just to make you all aware that as of today (Weds 12th Sept) I probably won’t be on Tumblr for a couple of days. I’ve just got to the end of night shift 3 of 4 and have a daytime meeting tomorrow and have to adjust my body clock etc before back to day shifts starting Friday.

I plan to post a new one shot of some sort by 8pm (UK time) on Fri 14th Sept.

‘Will You’

A Fake Dating AU: Chloe’s invited to her cousin’s wedding and is offered a ‘plus one’ on her invite. Unfortunately there appears to have been a bit of a misunderstanding in the Beale family and as a result Chloe has something rather awkward to ask her best friend.. (27 Chapters -  27,165 words)

‘In Five Years Time’

Beca and Chloe have been best friends since college. After graduation they moved into a tiny studio apartment with their best friend Fat Amy. Two years later they embarked on a USO tour with their old collegiate acapella group The Bellas. As luck would have it, Beca was offered a recording contract and Chloe had been accepted into Vet School. Upon returning home from the tour, Chloe asked Beca out on a date, and Beca agreed, but only when Chloe had finished her degree…in five years time… (15 Chapters -  21,190 words)

‘Space Brownies’

A mystery fic set in Barden which opens with Beca waking up naked in Chloe’s bed without really any memory of how they ended up there. They’re both covered in hickeys. Their clothes are strewn all over the floor. And they have weird scribbles in permanent pen on their wrists that resemble the other’s tattoo. Each chapter represent’s a different Bella’s POV of what happened the night before.. (13 Chapters -  15,209 words)

‘Misunderstandings’

(AKA: ‘The times people assumed Beca and Chloe were a couple’) All through college, best friends Beca & Chloe were mistaken for being a couple. These are some of those moments. (15 Chapters -  12,701 words)

‘Vegan Beca’

The time in PP3 (written before any footage was released but we knew Chicago was going to end up as Chloe’s love interest..) when Beca became Vegan for Chloe: When the Bellas embark on their USO tour, Chloe gets flustered around Chicago and tells him she loves meat, confusing the Bellas because they know she’s vegan. Beca tells Chicago she’s vegan just so Chloe will have something to eat during mealtimes..because she fancies the crap out of her. (18 Chapters -  11,782 words)

the pitch perfect movies may be over, but my undying love for bechloe and the franchaise itself will never ever die! here is a fic rec post that no one asked for but y’all are getting anyways! i have read a ridiculous (and borderline unhealthy) amount of fics over the past four years so enjoy some of my faves!!! these fics are all completed btw; no one likes a cliffhanger!  (sorry to all my forget-me-not homies who i left hanging off the cliff!!! you’ll find out what happens when i get it published as an original novel soon!) 

sidenote: i may add more to this in the future, but it’ll probably be a separate post bc a) i will have to dig to try and find this again, and b) this took me 3 hours to make and i will probably not have the willpower to make another one lmao

for starters, i decided to add a new section towards the end of fics that i love and want to draw attention to, but are currently works in progress or not finished/likely abandoned because they haven’t been updated in years. feel free to check them out, but if you’re someone who dislikes unfinished fics, i would discourage you from doing so :)

i ended up finding the oneshot fic that i was searching for in the first part of this post! it’s called Like a Stranger to Impress by @isthemusictoblame and i cry like a little bitch whenever i read it. it’s based off this beautiful song by EXES called “cain”, which is one of my favorite songs because it’s so raw and emotional and beautiful. this is super sad so if you’re really emotional, please don’t read it unless you’re alone/willing to get in your feels!!

a funny take on beca and chloe’s relationship, with cute chaubrey friendship. aubrey makes chloe call the guys from mtv’s catfish because she thinks that chloe’s getting strung along by beca. very funny. very cute.

this one is kind of sad because it’s written after chloe has married chicago and has a family with him, and her reconnecting with beca who shut her out after it became too painful to maintain their friendship. trigger warnings for addiction. good read. good writing.

an oldie, but goodie that i kind of forgot about for awhile until now. beautifully written; the writer is very very talented. this is written, as the title suggests, by different thanksgivings, and we watch how chloe falls in love with beca. it’s also a series, so check out the second and third part as well to see how it all ends.

i always love not-so-average-fangirl’s works, so of course, i must rave about this one. written before pp2, the bellas are going on a bonding cruise together, but with a catch; beca and chloe hate each other. rated m for hate-fucking. very funny. the fat amy one-liners always kill me. a work in progress that is still being updated!

Belong by makesgoodchoices

this one hasn’t been updated since 2016, so i’m assuming it’s been abandoned (which makes me sad because this was one of the very first fics i read back in the day). the music/mashup combos in this are fantastic, and i would highly recommend checking out cary brothers, whose music is heavily featured throughout, and the inspiration for the title of the fic. takes place after the first movie; beca runs away from chloe after they spend the night together, and then the story picks up five years later when beca is still sad over chloe, and they get reunited for aubrey and jesse’s wedding (though she’s a grammy award winning artist so at least she has that!). it’s incredibly angsty and i’m so sad that the author abandoned it, but i understand that life and inspiration get in the way sometimes.

Mix of Emotions by Illythia

also hasn’t been updated since 2017. also probably abandoned by now. this plays on the familiar chloe as an actress, beca as a brooding, angsty music producer trope that we’re all sluts for. this is an au, of course, so there’s no bellas, but they’re all kind of split off between each half of bechloe. i love how in-character everyone is written (well, aside from party animal beca, but even that is pulled off gracefully).
