having ADHD means you know a person who also has ADHD but it's somehow the most debilitating ADHD of anyone who's ever lived and they smoke 2 packs of cigarettes a day and drink 3 double-shot espressos by 10 am with more to come by noon and when they see you take your adderall they're like "my doctor prescribed me that but i don't want to become dependent on medication to function."

I keep seeing people in the comments talking about how they can’t do stimulants. There are non-stimulant adhd medications btw. I’m on strattera/atomoxetine. I take it once a day every day (you take it consistently, you don’t have to do the tolerance break thing). It’s not for everyone but there’s more than one option out there

I was looking at those velvet worm pictures and thinking it was cute and then it hit me that I’m not having a fight or flight response to it. Not because of any kind of exposure therapy, but because of the meds. Brb going to see what happens when I look at caterpillar gifs

Still feel uncomfortable at some of them but the response is very muted. Typically would be instant toe-curl and unable to unclench the muscles in my feet and jaw, plus heart racing
