mavydracula:
âOh, yeah thatâs right! It was my birthday yesterday! So now I really am one-hundred and eighteen! Old enough to drive a hearse, and old enough to make my own choices!â Mavis stamped her foot with a proud smile.Â
Honeyâs question drew a nod from her, her smile stretching even wider.Â
âYeah! A real Vampire! Both my mom and dad were vampires, so Iâm pure-blooded, I guess you can say, I mean the Dracula line goes back a long ways.âÂ
âOh, you know what itâs for? Neat! What DOES it do? I couldnât make any sense of it, but itâs all so.. clean!âÂ
Mavis smiled at her answer, and clapped her hands together enthusiastically.Â
âThatâs great! I bet youâll have lots of fun, huh? Ooh, maybe I could show you the way to the Green wing? Then I could take you to the lab!âÂ
âOh.. was it? Well -- happy belated birthday to you, Mavis!â Honeyâs mind was still reeling, but she couldnât help but clap her hands in excitement for Mavis. Birthdays really were a time of celebration and joy, afterall. That had always been her stance on them, though she knew many people disliked their birthdays (terrible, really, but a fact.)
âI.. well, thatâs.. if youâre a vampire then doesnât that mean you drink.. blood?âÂ
Well, thatâs what all the novels and movies said, there had to be some truth in it, right?
âThe lab..? Oh, itâs for conducting experiments and research on scientific topics. It could be for biology, chemistry or physics, or branches of those sections of science..â She explained with a small smile, and then brightened considerably.
âOh, that would really help, thank you!âÂ
If Mavis really WAS a vampire, then she was certainly unlike any that Honey had ever read about, and that was a relief.Â
