but it's not, it's a few incredibly terse pages of short story that drag your heart through a hedge backwards because it's so damn blunt
and as extraordinary as it is, it's just one of a collection of stories that are all basically saying look: life in rural Montana is really fucking bleak, and these are the ways of that - and Brokeback Mountain is just one of those stories and by the time you've finished reading the collection you're ready to be blown across the mesa like a paper bag, you're husked
