s.foster, 28, she/her If you follow me without having your age listed as 18+, you will be blocked. I am a teacher and will not allow minors to follow me, especially those engaging with Twisted Metal content. It is completely inappropriate. there is absolutely no reason for minors to follow an adult love story with explicit sexual tension and graphic scenes that are not for you, which is a central part of Twisted Metal alongside the action.
Iām putting together a small 18+ Discord server for Wopez writers (Wesley Evers / Angela Lopez from The Rookie). And Iām looking for a few people(or one eager, fellow writer) who want to actually write and build stories together.
I enjoy all RP styles equally. That means text-style RP, rapid fire, and multi-para scenes all have a place here. Some moments work better as quick back-and-forth dialogue, others deserve slower, descriptive scene writing, and I like having the freedom to do both depending on the plot or mood.
The focus is character driven storytelling and exploring the layers of Angela and Wesleyās relationship. That could mean canon-based moments, missing scenes, canon divergence, separation angst, domestic life with the kids, case related tension, or heavier emotional arcs. Iām very open to plotting and building ideas together rather than locking into one rigid storyline.
What Iām mainly looking for:
⢠Writers who enjoy multiple RP styles (text, rapid fire, para)
⢠Familiarity with Angela and Wesley as characters
⢠Must be 18+
⢠Comfortable writing in a space where MA rated content and mature themes may appear
⢠Interest in plotting together instead of only reacting scene by scene
⢠Good communication about pacing, boundaries, and ideas
This isnāt meant to be a huge chaotic server. The goal is a small space for writers who actually want to write Wopez and explore their dynamic.
If youāre interested, like this post or DM me here on Tumblr and Iāll send the Discord invite.
( Do NOT like this post if not interested in role-playing. It confuses me, thank you. )

āØļø Alright, I know this might get labeled a hot take, but honestly, I donāt think it should beāØļø
I keep seeing people talk about Nyla and Lucy like their bond is interchangeable with what Angela and Nyla have, and it just⦠isnāt. Itās not a knock on any character. I genuinely enjoy all three characters. But the idea that you can "break up" Angela and Nylaās dynamic and slide Lucy into that same emotional space doesnāt really hold up for me.
Angela and Nylaās friendship works because itās built on shared life experience. Theyāre both mothers. Theyāre both detectives. Theyāre navigating similar points in their careers and personal lives. Theyāre close in age. Thereās an ease and mutual understanding that comes from that overlap. When they talk, it feels like peers. When they clash, it feels like equals.
Lucy is in a completely different stage of life. Sheās younger, earlier in her career and still carving out her identity. That naturally shapes Lucyās dynamic with both Angela and Nyla into something different. Thereās mentorship there. Thereās protectiveness. Thereās genuine professional respect. But that kind of connection isnāt the same as a layered, peer to peer friendship rooted in shared life stages and parallel experiences.
It doesnāt need to be.
Let Lucy have relationships that actually fit the stage of life sheās in, like what sheās building with Celina.
Let Angela and Nyla keep the bond that feels grounded in who they are.
Not every strong connection has to resemble another one in order to matter. Nyla and Lucy already have something meaningful, precisely because it is rooted in mentorship. There is impact in that. Guidance, trust, accountability, growth. That kind of bond carries its own depth without needing to be reframed as a peer level friendship to validate it.
Because it's not.
And if weāre being completely honest, Lucy and Angelaās closeness didnāt develop in isolation. It grew as an extension of a shared connection. Tim. Their worlds overlap more because Timās world overlaps with both of theirs. Tim falls for Lucy. Tim is deeply intertwined with Angelaās life. Angela is his closest friend. So of course Lucy ends up in Angelaās orbit more often once that relationship becomes serious.
But Angela and Lucy are not friends, they're friendly. Even Angela made sure that Jackson understood that distinction in their early-days. So circling back to Nyla and Lucy, the same principle applies. They are not friends in the way that Angela and Nyla are.
And what really gets under my skin is the way some viewers talk about Angela and Nyla like theyāre disposable, like their friendship is something that can just be dismantled so Nyla can slot into a deeper bond with Lucy instead.
No. Iām sorry. No.
Angela and Nyla are not just coworkers who happen to get along.
They are equals. They are peers.
Both mothers. Both seasoned detectives who earned every inch of where they stand.
The distinction:
Neither of them mentors the other because they donāt need to. They meet each other on equal footing.
Lucy is younger. Sheās still climbing. Sheās navigating a different chapter entirely.
Wanting Nyla to ābreak upā with Angela so she can form a peer level bond with someone who isnāt actually her peer feels forced and unnecessary. And honestly, it also suggests a misunderstanding of how varied relationships can be. Not every meaningful connection exists on the same level or serves the same purpose
Not every relationship has to be rearranged to elevate another one.
Angela and Nylaās friendship doesnāt need to be sacrificed to validate Lucyās growth.
Lucy can have a meaningful bond with Nyla without reshaping Nylaās existing relationships or redefining who she already is.
Not every positive dynamic needs to be upgraded into a ābest friendā narrative to validate it. Sometimes friendly is exactly what itās meant to be and not supposed to be anything else.
Nyla isnāt going to take a spa trip with Lucy outside of work the way she would with Angela, because their relationship just doesnāt operate on that level.
When Nyla is with Lucy, thereās always a part of her thatās still switched on. Still observing. Still teaching. Lucy is someone she helped shape, someone she feels responsible for in a professional sense.
With Angela, itās different. Nyla doesnāt have to monitor, correct, or guide. Angelaās professionalism isnāt hers to carry. Thereās no mentorship layer sitting between them. They meet as equals, which means Nyla can actually exhale.
Anyway⦠I really hope this clears some of it up.
Maybe it even helps people who struggle with distinguishing between different types of relationships, or who feel like Nyla and Lucy have to mirror what Angela and Nyla have in order to ācount.ā
I would love a few mutuals to actually talk about Angela and Wesley with instead of just liking posts and moving on. The kind of conversations where we overanalyze scenes, debate motivations, and spiral about the emotional details.
Oh, I'm also including Angela and Nyla's relationship because I adore them so much ā¤ļø
If that sounds fun, DM me here or ask for my Discord.

āØļø Wopez is about to take a backseat to Chenford, and Iām not ready for that āØļø
Let me start by saying itās deserved. It really is Chenfordās moment to be front and center.
I just love Wopez too much to completely make peace with it, even if itās fair.
I just hope Wesley and Angela donāt end up pushed aside too much.
Who do you think the show treats as the āIT coupleā?
š Wopez
ā¤ļø Chenford
I feel like it could go either way. Wopez were the first solidly established relationship and got everything, while Chenford really thrived on that hugely popular āwill they, wonāt theyā dynamic.
Just a small snippet from one of my favorite Jake and Rosa fics on AO3, No Sirens in the Distance.
It has found its way into the hearts of a small but loyal group of Jake and Rosa readers, or maybe it is simply my particular interpretation of who they are together. Either way, I am deeply grateful to anyone who takes the time to read and sit with my stories.
It is a dark, canon divergent story in which Rosa is subjected to sustained psychological and physical torture, dissociating as a means of survival. As the situation escalates, Jakeās protective instincts and long buried love are forced into the open, driven by his need to shield her from as much harm as possible. The story is rooted in isolation and the absence of rescue. There are no sirens, no outside intervention, only the two of them trapped with the antagonist, Nucci, and whatever psychological, emotional, and physical torment he chooses to inflict.
It is an intentionally heavy and unsettling piece of writing, one I fully intend to return to and finish when the time is right.
ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢
You know,ā he says, almost casual, āI think itās time I make a decision.ā
He doesnāt look at either of them when he says it. Just keeps toying with the gun, eyes half-lidded, voice quiet.
āDebating on violence,ā he adds with a faint chuckle. āSuch an inconvenient thing.ā
Then he moves. Fast. Too fast.
Rosa doesnāt even get a full second before his hand grabs a fistful of her hair, twisting it tight. He yanks her head back in a single vicious motion, spine arching, shoulders straining against the restraints.
A sound rips out of her. Not a breath. Not a growl.
A cry. High. Sharp. Raw.
It bursts out before she can stop it, before her mind can catch up to the pain.
Jakeās chair scrapes violently across the tile as he tries to move, to reach her, but thereās nothing he can do. Heās bound. Helpless. Watching.
Nucciās grip tightens, fingers locked around the length of her hair like reins. He gathers it into a makeshift ponytail in his fist, keeps her head tilted back, exposed, vulnerable.
Then he lifts the gun.
He doesnāt aim it at her head.
He presses it into the crook of her neck.
The cold muzzle finds the soft hollow just beneath her jaw, right where the skin thins and the blood rushes loud and fast.
Jake sees it.
The way Rosaās pulse pounds against the metal. The way her lips part with a trembling breath.
The way she shuts her eyes tight, fighting for control, for oxygen, for anything that doesnāt belong to this man.
Her chest heaves once.
She tries to steady it. She fails.
Nucci leans closer.
Close enough that his breath ghosts against the side of her face. It smells like mint and something worse underneath it. Something human and rotting.
His voice is quiet. Low.
Laced with something obscene.
āSee,ā he whispers, ānow weāre really getting somewhere.ā
The room holds its breath.
The gun rests against Rosaās neck, nestled in that soft, perfect notch just beneath her jaw. Her pulse is visible now. Tight. Rapid. Beating against the barrel like itās trying to outpace the steel.
Jake watches it. Watches her.
Her eyes are closed. Her mouth is drawn tight. Sheās silent again, but this silence feels different.
Not like control. Not like surrender.
Like every muscle in her body is coiled around the need to stay alive.
Nucci smiles. Wide this time.
He doesnāt look at her anymore.
He looks at Jake.
Head tilted, eyes bright.
āTell me something, Peralta.ā His voice is light. Like heās asking about the weather.
āWhat do you think happens if I pull the trigger?ā
The smile widens, like heās genuinely curious.
āRight here.ā
He presses the muzzle in tighter, just enough to dimple the skin at the curve of Rosaās neck.
āThe soft spot.ā
Jake jerks forward. The cuffs bite into his wrists. His chair grinds an inch across the floor, but not far enough. Never far enough.
Nucci keeps talking. Unbothered.
āThink itās fast?ā He tilts his head slightly, still watching Jake.
āShe twitches, right? Drops forward. Youād get the worst angle. Youād hear it before you saw it. The splatter. The weight of her hitting the floor.ā
He laughs softly. āDo you think sheād make a sound?ā
His thumb traces a slow arc just under Rosaās ear.
āSheās been so quiet. I almost want to hear how it ends.ā
ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢
If you made it through this snippet without your breath hitching, genuinely, well done. If it left you wanting more, you know where to find it. This excerpt is only a small part of the story. Over twelve thousand words are already posted on my AO3 account, S_Foster, for anyone who wants to keep reading.
So I've learned how to do this, and thereās no unlearning it now.
Before anyone jumps in with hate or tells me I should be shunned, please remember: these are my takes on Rosa and Jake for my Partner. In. Crime verse, not the actors themselves.
I think Iām going to pause writing Quiet and John for now and put my energy into Jake and Rosa. At least until Season 3 of Twisted Metal starts filming and I have more inspiration for that universe.
I know not everyone is here for PeraltDiaz, and this might be a letdown. I get that.
But if you stick around and give my Jake and Rosa content a chance, you might end up liking it anyway.
What Iāve attached below is admittedly something thatās controversial in creative spaces. I donāt claim to have created these images. Theyāre A.I generated, so the only role I had was using language to guide what I wanted.
I chose to make them anyway because they genuinely bring me joy.
I understand if youāre opposed to A.I in any form, but I really love using it to generate PeraltDiaz family content.
For those whoāve been following my AO3, youāre probably aware that these images are based on my Partner in Crime verse šā¤ļø A verse where Jake never had any attraction to Amy, because he was already with Rosa long before Amy ever stepped into the Nine-Nine.
Sitting on Jakeās shoulders is Rosalyn Diaz Peralta, their four year old.
Itās official. Never trust me when I say Iāll be posting a chapter āsoon.ā I always mean it, I really do, but life has hands and it grabs me by the throat every time I try to stick to a schedule.
Itās safer to think of my updates as mythical. The Easter Bunny. Santa Claus. Adorable, comforting, something you want to believe in but deep down know is not actually real.
This is my comical way of saying Iām sorry. Updates are happening, they really are, I just cannot promise when. Thank you for sticking around.
On the bright side, I am absolutely losing my mind over Twisted Metal 3 getting renewed š

Sneak Peek of Ch 1: Loving the One Who Refuses to Let Go
The fire had burned through most of its fuel, leaving behind a shallow bed of glowing coals. The logs shifted with the occasional pop, brittle with heat and nearly spent. An owl hooted once from a low branch nearby, the sound soft and brief before falling quiet, only to call again a moment later.
The couple shared the space where they were sitting like they meant it. Quietās body leaned subtly into his, the outside of her thigh pressing into his leg, warmth passing between them like neither of them needed it to go any further. Her temple pressed softly into the curve of his shoulder.
Roadkill sat parked in the dirt, its paint scorched and dulled, the engine ticking softly in the cool. Shrapnel, Dollfaceās battered Volkswagen, was parked a good mile off, facing away from Roadkill and the fire.
Krista had wanted to give Quiet and John space to just be, because even she knew all they might have was until tomorrow.
Mayhem, not one to stick around for sentimental crap, rolled her eyes and mumbled something about how over-thirty tongue action should be illegal, then followed Dollface down the road.
Quiet had peeled her head off his shoulder and yelled after Mayhem that she was thirty-eight, thank you very much, you little shit. Mayhem just barked a laugh and hollered, āExactly!ā like sheād just proven a point while vanishing further down the road.
Quiet leaned in closer, her hair falling forward in loose, uneven waves, brushing against his collar and jaw. āThe tournament is tomorrow⦠Do you think weāll win?ā
I wanted to share this as proof that I really am working on it. Letās be honest: I have a habit of saying Iāll write something and then never actually find the time to do it.
I was looking through one of my old PeraltDiaz Discord RPs earlier, just reliving a few memories, and found a post Iād written a while back. Itās set in my Partner In Crime universe, the same one I originally built just for my Discord RP, long before I ever uploaded the official introduction on AO3.
For anyone who hasnāt read that universe yet, Iāll link the intro. It really is one of the most beautiful and layered versions of Jake and Rosa Iāve ever written, and if youāre ever going to fall in love with them as a couple, itāll probably be because of that introduction.
Anyway, in this particular Discord text-style RP, Rosa messages Jake (her husband) to let him know that her mom will be picking up their three-year-old daughter, Rosalyn. He asks if she's going to be spending the night, hoping for some alone time. Rosa tells him absolutely not, pick up is 6pm sharp.
What Rosa says in that text is something Iāve always imagined her feeling whenever she thinks about her daughter spending time with her grandmother.
While everyone here already knows itās PeraltDiaz, itās also easy to picture this scene in a broader sense. Rosa with anyone, as a mother, navigating what her relationship with her own mom looks like when it comes to her daughter. Itās a versatile moment, one that still feels deeply true to Rosa no matter the context.
Rosa: Iām not saying my mom is abusive.
Iām saying she doesnāt understand where discipline ends, and harm begins.
Rosa: To her, a Chanchla is tradition.
Rosa: To me, itās a warning sign not to let her anywhere near Ro when sheās having a hard time going to bed.
Rosa: Thatās prime tantrum time. you and I both know that. And Ro deserves to be safe even when sheās not ālistening.ā
Rosa: When I was three, my ma used to chase me with a Chanchla, yelling,
"If you donāt get your toddler ass back in that bed, Rosalita, the Chanchla will give you a reason to have nightmares.ā
To this, I'll post the most encouraging comments I've ever received.
Iām very much enjoying the Peraltdiaz content youāre making. I totally accept canon and suchā itās my favorite showā but these two have so much potential as a couple and I ADORE reading different depictions of them. Youāre a very well spoken writer, canāt wait to read more <3 (Partner In Crime Verse)
I just have to say, you have such a way with words. Itās truly mesmerizing how you can describe simple thoughts and feelings in such rich detailā¦.Never stop writing cause it seems to be your calling! (I Told You I'd Burn It All Down)
The way you write and the way you "explained yourself" in this is so eloquent and beautiful. I can already tell that this fic is right up my street from this introduction alone. I'm very excited for what is to come (Partner in Crime Verse )
Oh damn this is great! A really cool concept and I love how youāve captured their personalities! The detail of John being annoyed at Quiet getting Evelyn dirty was perfect! (Do it, Then)
I AM SCREAMING!!!! first of all, this clip literally has me going insane. itās my roman empire, i swear not a day goes by where i donāt think about it. second of all I LOVE THISS!!!! your writing is so freaking beautiful, the way you describe things makes it so easy to picture and understand the characters. quite literally kicking my feet giggling and biting my finger while reading this. cannot wait for them to be back tomorrow. once again SCREAM. ING. (Ten Days, Seven Months, One Stare)
I appreciate every one of my reviews and especially the readers who wrote them! Thank you so much!

For anyone waiting on Do it, Then (Chapter 4), I wanted to give a quick heads-up. Itās going to be a little while before I post it. I know how many of you adore that fic (and trust me, I adore it too), but Iāve got other projects that need my attention first.
Up next in line are:
⨠I Told You Iād Burn It All Down (Jake/Rosa), a fic sitting at 54 kudos, 6 bookmarks, and 19 comments, which makes it very deserving of a long-overdue update.
⨠Before even that, Iāll be focusing on the first chapter of Loving the One Who Refuses to Let Go (Quiet/John navigating love, violence, and surviving Mayhem...kind of), which Iāve already talked about a bit here.
And because apparently, I love Jake & Rosa's āalmostā more than their āever after", Iām also working on another Jake/Rosa story called December Knows Too Much. It's the perfect angsty December fic to sink into when itās cold outside and you want to feel something tragic and beautiful.
Now, I know I must have the nerve to dare post another Jake/Rosa when I havenāt updated the Almost Verse, or the P.I.C Verse, or even Unspoken⦠yeaaa, but hereās the thing! I have AUDHD. I canāt help it sometimes. My brain goes vroom vroom creativity machine and I just follow it.
December Knows Too Much will be posted all throughout December because itās exactly the kind of Brooklyn Nine-Nine Jake and Rosa heartbreak you need to get you through the holidays.
Also, just to clarify: I do not write for Peraltiago. I cannot stress that enough. But if Peraltiago is your ship, I'm certain there will be plenty of festive holiday fics from the many talented writers who do love them. Youāll be in good hands. š
Spoiler alert that you didnāt ask for: Jake accidentally plays āRun Run Rudolphā at the worst possible moment in December Knows Too Much.
And thatās all Iām going to say about that.
Anything else⦠I donāt think so.
Keep loving Quiet/John, and please try to get used to my reimagining of Jake and Rosa , because theyāre absolutely so worth your time, at least the way I write them.
Because who among us doesnāt enjoy Rosa going down on a sour straw Jake stole from an active case, both of them tucked in a stairwell looking unprofessionally wrecked?
Go read I Told You Iād Burn It All Down! do not sleep on this. 7 chapters, 30k words of Jake and Rosa being catastrophically good for each other.
idk who needs to hear this, but low engagement does not mean your writing is bad.
engagement doesnāt solely depend on the quality of the work. whilst it can play a role, other things such as fandom, ship, tags, tropes and posting at the right time of the day/week play a SIGNIFICANT role.
so keep writing what you love. keep writing what makes your heart happy. your work is amazing. the fact that youāre even putting words out there is amazing.
