Being apart for two weeks made your heart ache, you missed him every second. When you looked around in your apartment, every single thing reminded you of him: the empty crystal ash-tray on the coffee table, the pack of cigarettes on the nightstand, his shirts, the bottle of rum you shared on special occasions and his yellow aviator sunglasses he inadvertently forgot home when he left.

You squeeze under the desk and listen to their conversation. Javierโs voice is composed and authoritative and you hear him gasp when your hand accidentally brushes against his thigh, grazing the fabric of his pants. You want to retrieve it, but are taken by surprise when he laces his fingers with yours and keeps them firm in his grip, leaving your hand right where it is.
