But you don’t just get to make up any orientation you want out of thin air and call people bigots for not understanding or accepting it

The burden of proof lies on you. You have to validate that orientation by having other people experience the same things. You have to have it be a pattern and it has to be something believable and scientifically backed. (As much as it can be) All orientations are subjective to individual experiences, yes, but all of them should be able to be proven.

i bring this up because similarly, i shouldnt have to back up my orientation with science. i feel like, the idea that orientation has to be psychologically quantified is something that indirectly led to the pathologization of non-straight people. so in the same way as gender, people absolutely can “call whatever I want an orientation and be right” because they are not biological concepts, they are personal concepts. 

also, i dont think that orientations have to be common in order to be accepted. sexual orientation is something that is inherent to people, but the subdivisions between them are socially constructed and really, everything exists on a spectrum. so if someone finds that their orientation is different enough from all the existing terms and would like to identify as a new term then go ahead.

also i really hate the “burden of proof lies on you” thing because as we speak some cis is saying the exact same thing to me and i’m like jfc i have no energy or time to make every transphobe understand my gender its their responsibility to educate themselves about it and be less shitty. similar, people should not be shitty towards sexualities they havent heard of before. 

I know you’ll take this the wrong way but what the hell. You can hate truscum all you wish but they kind of have a point in that regard? Being transgender is about the transition. It’s going from one gender to another. Dysphoria should be a way for it to be measured. That doesn’t mean being non-binary is fake or not LGBT because it is, it just means they are perhaps two separate categories that should be treated separately so that trans individuals can get the treatments to transition that they need. Instead of being denied as my BF was because doctors now think it’s “trendy” to be trans. That’s a whole other argument tho, so I digressed.

The pathology of non-straight people was because of homophobia. It was to fix them, not to study and understand their experiences. That’s not what I’m talking about.

But we need words that mean something. We need to be able to communicate experiences to others in ways they’ll understand, with concepts they’ll understand. I can’t just tell a straight person I’m ceptasexual and expect them to understand that is what I call my very personal experience of feeling sexual desire. They’ll use that to discredit me and my experiences because they are so individual. But if you have people and a community that is supporting it and saying, “Yes, we all feel this!” then it’s harder to ignore and gets society to make laws to protect and equalize it.

Hi everyone, my beautiful followers. Unfortunately, my little baby chihuahua, Cole, was paralyzed out of the blue this morning. He is extreme pain. There is no hope for him to walk ever again unless he gets surgery. It’s $10,000. My family can’t afford it, and Cole would be in pain for the rest of his life.

i know of uninucleus, they’ve been shunned for basically forever over here, but i genuinely haven’t seen any other TERF blogs on the pro-inclusion side. granted, one doesn’t always know immediately, and what i have or haven’t personally experienced doesn’t equal what actually goes on, so let’s see what we can do to substantiate these claims

we’ve circulated posts with links to dozens of anti-inclusion TERFs, so if there are even more pro-inclusion TERFs than that, it should be ridiculously easy to put together such a post for anyone on the anti-inclusion side

Meanwhile, when I look at the notes on that list of 131 anti-inclusion TWERFs… if it’s been circulated as a block and no-platform list on the anti-inclusion side, I can’t tell. (There’s a fair number of people reblogging to add themselves, or to crow over being on it, buuuuut.)

And the only explicitly pro-inclusion TWERF I have ever seen anyone mention is u/nin/ucle/us.
