“I don’t think a list will be necessary,” she shoots back, a tiny smirk on her lips. Even though they were both trying to be blase about the situation at hand, she has to steel herself for a moment and be honest. “Tommy, if something happens...” she takes his hand before continuing. “If something happens, I need you to promise me that you’ll get Kel and Kali out of here. I can take care of myself, but they only have one shot.”

She can’t help but smirk a little at his question. “Tommy Parker, when am I ever not safe?” Her bravado falters for a moment. In truth, she was nervous. Running from a government agency was one thing. Infiltrating one was another. She quickly steels her expression, however. No need to worry her boyfriend with ‘what ifs’. “It’s all going to be flawless, love.”

Alex smiles into the kiss, but her expression hardens a bit at the mention of Diana. “I know. I know. And I know that some of it is my fault. We’re going to fix it all, baby. Hopefully, we’ll be able to be home by this time tomorrow. I should be able to get Kellan out by tonight, if Tucker’s contacts come through. You just have that plane ready.”

Alex rolls her eyes. “I’ll give it to you that extracting Kel and Kali has been more complicated than I originally anticipated but it’s more fun than stressful, love.”

“A comic book character that could kick your ass,” she answers, giving him a swift kiss on the cheek before adjusting her quiver on her shoulder. “When can we get on the plane?” she asked. Her hands were twitching around her bow, eager to use it again. She couldn’t tell Tommy, but just the few days without a physical scuffle had been hard for her. She missed the adrenaline. She needed it.

Alex takes a long moment to consider exactly what Carter had said, her eyes darting quickly to Reese, and noticing the poor girl hadn’t been prepared to witness a possible murder. She puts her knife back in it’s sheath and crosses her arms. “You have my attention. Continue speaking.”

Alex wasted no time getting into her gear. Knife in both boots, gun on a thigh holster, another on her hip. The bow and arrow had been her brother’s calling card; everyone else in their community thought it was too outdated for an assassin, but she continued to wear it for him. She grabbed her mask, so similar to the one that he had worn, but hers was red. Stowing it in her pocket, she jumped down three flights of stairs and landed right in front of her boyfriend, smirking. “I’m ready.”

It’s about time that you learned that I always get what I want. [She smirks, kissing his softly.] So let me go get my pack, you call the plane, and let’s skedaddle off to London.

Tommy, I’m not going to have this debate with you. You’re coming with me. I just got you back, and I’m not losing you again. So either we both get on that plane, or neither of us do.

Alex is quick to process the information, and even quicker to react. She pulled a knife from her boot, holding it to Carter’s throat without a second of hesitation. “I just lost a brother, you know that, right? And after I lost him, I did everything I could to hurt everyone that was part of the reason that he died. So for you to come around and make jokes about being my brother...well, that makes me a little murderous. So I’m gonna give you about three seconds to leave or you’re gonna regret it.”

It’s not like that, and you know that. I just want you with me.

I’m glad you agree. [She pulls him into her, kissing him hard.] You could come with me to England, you know. We could handle everything from there.
