She’s... dying?!

Obi-Wan is gentle with her all along, and in the end, when she is at her most vulnerable state - both mentally and physically -, he does everything to shield her from the cruel reality, and tries to keep her in the moment.

When he looks at her, there is so much genuine compassion, regret, worry and something inexplicable in his eyes which makes me think that no other human being was more worthy to stay by her side while she was going through that terrible experience. These scenes are so pure and respectful, wholesome and immensely tragic.

Padmé deserves better, and and Obi-Wan knows it. He has never been more broken, yet he is able to pull himself together and be there for her as a loving and caring supporter:
