American Sweethearts

I was never one of the American Sweethearts Though I would be lying if I said I hadn’t wished I was. They were the beautiful people, the chosen ones. Their smiles could make God himself forgive them any sin And they were plenty guilty. They were the epitome of what the world told us we should be, Sun kissed skin, flawless bodies, and the picture of radiant youth The sons and daughters of Aphrodite and Adonis Full of wild love and lust for freedom and the need for escape Standing on the edge of adult hood clinging with all their might to their childish selves while still old enough to know the wonders of the looming world Selfish and self absorbed nothing lived beyond their own imagining There was only the here and now Living and thriving in their own eternal summer Dancing like savages by the light of the bonfires set ablaze on beaches Laughter and calls of wild beasts in the night They lived on instinct and passion alone For they were invincible and everlasting even as the dawn approached No one and nothing could touch them For they were America’s Sweethearts And that meant they always would be.

I've Got a War in my Mind Been tryin' hard not to get into trouble,  But I, I've got a war in my mind- Lana Del Rey, Ride. Have you ever been at war with yourself? At night, during the day. You can't stop thinking, you can't stop hurting and it's all within your own walls. Your mind runs in circles, your chest is tight in a vise grip, you want to stop but you just can't. you drive yourself so far close to madness you think that if you just finally tip over that ledge, you'd finally feel better, the war would be over but you don't and it doesn't end.

Take Two and Call me in the Morning " There, all better Dean?" "Yeah Sammy, all better." "Ok, No more boo-boos ok Dean? Promise." "I promise..." I've  been binge watching Supernatural lately and this scene popped in my  head. I did the math and Dean and Sam are about 4 years apart so if Sam  was 4 or 5 Dean would be about 8. I think I drew him a little older than  that but oh well.

No Escape From the Storm Inside of Me...

I love the movie Frozen for many reasons but I really love Elsa. I identify with her in more ways then one. She sacrifices so much for her family, the people she loves. She tries to be a good girl by keeping everything inside, keep her emotions and in that her powers in check because that is what her responsibilities ask of her. All she wants is to be herself and the only way she feels like she can do that is by being alone. She has a great power that can either build or destroy and it scares her. Her greatest hurtle is fear, which is what we all deal with and it is something that she overcomes and in doing that she is strong.
