One day, my dad was cooking for lunch. He wouldn't tell me what it is, or how he's doing it, or what ingredients he's using. He won't even let me help him! Ugh. Getting so tired and bored of waiting with my tummy grumbling and craving for food, I took over the kitchen. Yeah, I know he told me not to but I want it so bad! My dad and I both knew how to cook. He's the master chef, after all. But there are certain things he is just doing wrong. So here I am, taking over what he has started. And finished the meal a whole lot quicker than he would have. Good thing I did! But then again, or so I thought. Presentation is one of the most important factors when cooking. Another is taste, of course. I grabbed a fork and had a bite of my dish. And my oh my!! It tasted horrible and it made me sick soon after. Ugh. This is all dad's fault!! I hate him so much!! Now, here comes dad. I was furious. But I was also ashamed of myself for thinking I knew better than him. I was already bracing myself for his scolding and yelling but, all he said was, "you have to trust me. Here, let me cook you another dish". Yes, you guessed it right. That was the most perfect bite I had ever taken. It was absolutely delicious, I can't even find the words to describe it!! Well you know, the story above tells so much about how eager we always are to get the things we want, when we want it. We grow so impatient and try to do things on our own. At first, it may seem to look good but when things go absolutely wrong, we blame Him for everything when all along, we were the ones insisting. I don't know about you but, I surely want to have heaven's best. But heaven's best comes with waiting. God knows what He's doing and all you have to do is to sit back and have faith and trust in Him. His eyes can see the bigger picture and He's very much concerned with even the tiniest detail of our life. He knows when you're ready and when you're not. He knows all your secrets and all your heart's desires. In time, in His perfect time, He will give you what you want. Even much more than what you have been hoping or expecting. All is takes is for us to let go and to stop attempting to do things our way because we know so little compared to Him. And often, we are led by our emotions. He doesn't want us to get hurt but we choose otherwise. Just let Him take care of you. He loves you more than you think and He wants what's best for you. But then, that would be our choice because He can't interfere with free will. He's always there, pursuing you and following you wherever you go, so ready to give all the wonders He has prepared for you. Would you let Him?
