So I just stay in bed then?
That would be preferable. Ā Your systems should correct themselves within a few cycles.
I can do that, so whenever your ready I guess.
I need to collect a few pieces--could you stop by my lab tomorrow for a preliminary screening?
Wow, thanks Perceptor! Wait-it will what? For how long?
Depending on how the upgrade goes? Ā Three to five terran solar cycles.

Actually, Cosmos, current location aside, your alt if exceedingly discreet. Ā The hovering mechanism utilized couldāwith a few minor adjustmentsābe completely silent.
Really? Are you offering to upgrade me Perceptor?Ā
Youāre not gonna carry me are you..
If you like. Ā And, of course, I will avoid it so long as it is not necessaryāthe upgrade may throw off your stabilizers for a few breems.

āThis artistās impression shows the material ejected from the region around the super-massive black hole in the quasar SDSS J1106+1939. This object has the most energetic outflows ever seen, at least five times more powerful than any that have been observed to date. ā
I found itā¦Perceptor, why are you looking at me funny?
While I hope you are aware it is a forged image, I surmise that it could be due to your unique hovering abilityāthe module for which, if youāll pardon me, is a fascinating piece of biomechanics.
Thanks Perceptor. I like my alt mode, even if it isnāt veryĀ discrete.Ā

āCosmos? Ā Is there any particular reason you have this image?ā

"Cosmos? Ā Is there any particular reason you have this image?"
Hello! My name's Hot Rod. I was told to ask you about those tears and stuff that's been happening, 'cause I have no idea what's going on. Just, uh, if you could explain it in a way that I can understand?
Greetings, Hot Rod, it is good to see a new face. Ā As to the tears, I won't bore you with the more in depth mechanics. Ā The universe as we knew it has always been perceived as infinite, and one of two possibilities followed. Ā Either there is one universe, all-encompassing in its infinity, or there are an infinite number of limited universes. Ā Now, when I say limited, I mean in terms of their laws. Ā For example, gravity is a force of attraction in this universe. Ā You wouldn't expect a ship to be propelled away from Cybertron without some sort of additional force--specifically due to the planet's gravity. Ā We still cannot confirm if there are multiple universes, or a single, massive one, as the laws of physics seem to be fairly congruent throughout all encountered universes. Ā Any variations are well within expected parameters.
However, as to the tears, something has managed to either create an undetectable space bridge across massive expanses of space, previously thought to be all but impossible to cross at such speeds, or something has punctured multiple universes, creating a sort of trans-dimensional tunnel. Ā Now, this is all theoretics at the moment, but if you'd like I can keep you up to date as more data is collected and analyzed.
Attention
Wheeljack watched Perceptor wander around, trying to conceal his wariness. Heās got all kinds of materials for the bridge laid out, and Perceptorās more than capable of putting everything together, if he bothers to look.
At Perceptorās statement, Wheeljack rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. āSorry about that. You know how I am, Percy.ā Really, though, itās just another way heās been a failure. Perceptor had cleaned his lab for him while he was gone, and itād taken him, what, a couple of Earth days to mess it all up again?
āI like it.ā
He doesnāt really know how to talk to Wheeljack. Ā It feels⦠surreal. Ā Wrong. Ā He half-expects to wake up in the medical bay to the realization that he had managed to poison himself. Ā Certainly he wasnāt quite as accident-prone as the engineer, but he did have his moments.
āAre⦠are those new beakers? Ā They look nice.ā
He⦠likes it? āArenāt you supposed to be the one who likes things all tidy?ā he asked with a forced laugh, still watching Perceptor wander around. Wheeljack couldnāt say heās the most lucid at the momentāheād noticed having lost considerable amounts of time when heād thought he was working out equationsābut Perceptor seemed⦠lost somehow.
When Perceptor mentioned the beakers, Wheeljack looked over, confused. āUh⦠I donāt think soāunless there was some kinda shipment while I was⦠while I was gone.ā
Perceptor's quiet. Ā He sighs, walking over to sit beside Wheeljack. Ā He can't really meet the other's optics. "I know I have never been the most vocal mech, but I am glad you are safe. Ā I missed you. Ā We all... Wheeljack, if you need to talk, I am present."
Attention
He walks in slowly, shutting the door behind himself. Ā He stands there for a while, not talking, just looking around. Ā The places he had cleaned are now cluttered with familiar paraphernalia and itās somehow comforting. Ā He isnāt sure how long it is between the time he entered the room and when he finally speaks.
āItās a mess in here.ā

Perceptor had been about to visit Wheeljack when Elitaās voice, somber and steady, came over the intercom.
For all of his brilliance, his mindāfilled with an extensive vocabularyācould not piece together the words heād heard. De⦠activated? Ā Certainly he hadnāt spent as much time with the Prime as others in the crew, but⦠he was Prime. Ā He had always been kind to Perceptor, and the scientist held him in the highest respects.
Putting down his projects, Perceptor walked out of his lab. Ā For once, he didnāt want to be alone. Ā Before he knew it, his feet had led him to Wheeljackās lab, and he knocked quietly on his friendās door.
āWheeljack? Ā May⦠may I come in?ā
At the knock, Wheeljack looked up from where he was still slumped over a lab bench, trying to figure out what heād need to take with him. He hastily subspaced the datapad heād been taking notes on, and turned to the doorway.
ā¦Perceptor. If he were completely honest with himself, heād been hoping to avoid the mech until he left. He didnāt want to have to face Percy like this, and didnāt want to give the alternate Prime another target. But now that Perceptor was here, he couldnāt turn him away.
āYeah, uh, sure, Percy. Cāmon in.ā

Attention
Her voice is eerily calm when she speaks, detached and cold.
āOptimus Prime has been deactivated. Ā Bumblebee, please report to my office for reassignment. Ā That is all.ā
