My grandmother has been urgently admitted to the hospital because I couldn't afford to buy her medication due to the lack of donations.
Friends, I need your support. π
My grandmother urgently needs her medication, which costs β¬600.
She urgently needs an expensive treatment that we cannot afford. If we cannot buy her medication, she may be forced to undergo emergency surgery, and there is a serious risk to her life.
Please, I love my grandmother and I want her to stay with us. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to our β¬600 goal and gives her a better chance of getting the treatment she desperately needs.ππ
Please don't leave us alone. Your kindness, your donation, or even sharing our campaign could help save her life.ππ

thing i started uhhh. over a year ago and may never finish lol
Monster
THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!!
KOSA IS MOVING FORWARD IN THE HOUSE!
It's part of a package called the KIDS Act, filled with digital ID and age verification and censorship!
MAKE THOSE PHONES RING!! CALL YOUR HOUSE REPRESENTATIVES ALL WEEK
202-224-3121 i HIGHLY encourage everyone to read the bills in the KIDS Act, because you will be doing more than 95% of people who read and introduce these bills
All of the bad internet bills. One website.
Crucially, this is being led by a lot of Democrats. This is not just Republicans sneaking bullshit in while they have the power to simply not listen to anyone; your democratic representatives will continue to co-sponsor and speak in support of this unless they know you, their voters, do not want them to.
Kim Dokja won't help pry open doors in a literally dire situation. He can't swim he just doggy paddles. He can't do more than one push up, or put up a tent.
But the new Side Story chapter tells us he can do Cat-Cow, and that's all we really need from him in the end.
Yoo Sangah: I find living alone to be more convenient too, Dokja-ssi.
Yoo Sangah: *lives with Han Sooyoung and Lee Sookyung for at least a decent period of time in the 3 year time skip*
So yes ofc Sangsoo but another point I'm trying to make is that Yoo Sangah, despite agreeing it's easier living alone, chooses to want to live with others. Sometimes in life, the "easiest" choice isn't the best one for you. And in the scene she tells this line to Kim Dokja, she also goes on to describe what a life could be like when they're all living together in an apartment complex. Everyone in their own homes, but together. And Kim Dokja then later changes this to a Big House meaning all together in one home.
Yoo Sangah telling us she finds living alone to be convenient only for her to choose to live with people she has grown close to (Han Sooyoung and Lee Sookyung) is her exemplifying my earlier message of the easiest not always being the best.
In fact, I know this is a hinted thought process because KIM DOKJA actually discusses a similar matter WAY early on with Lee Gilyoung in the 3rd scenario where LGY tells us "wouldn't it be easier to move alone?" and Kim Dokja telling us yes it WOULD be easier, but he finds that ruins the story (life) he wants.
Just another example of Yoo Sangah living up to the ideals Kim Dokja wishes he can achieve and showing us so many qualities that he admires about her
(While also showing us Yoo Sangah has developed her own close bonds and chooses to live with these people instead of alone. Her and Sooyoung-ie π₯Ί)

Y'all ever think about how the Yoo Joonghyuk that Kim Dokja interacted with the most was 0th turn? Like, you know he was probably spamming 0th with indirect messages whenever something wild happened. He was there for who knows how many years during the scenarios, and most likely after them too since Star Stream was still alive and we know the constellations still interact with the incarnations (based off the end of 1864).
And THAT 0th is the one that eventually became 1864.
sometimes reddit fandom does a galaxy brained take. thank you to this post for explaining it, i think they nailed it
also shoutout to this comment. both han sooyoung and lee sookyung do get walls, very explicitly within the text.
han sooyoung has the wall of a computer/smartphone screen and lee sookyung has the wall of a prison cell separating them both from Kim Dokja (and they both try to overcome it by getting Yoo Joonghyuk as an intermediary??)
"you understand" is a common phrase exchanged between perverts
There's worse to come, folks. Strap in and stay strapped.
All news posts are stronger with receipts:
Eight people accused by the Justice Department of having ties to antifa have been sentenced to decades in federal prison over a shooting out
You can support imprisoned people by sending them letters of support and money to use for the commisary and phone calls. Being in prison is expensive. Don't write anything that would get them in trouble. Prisoners' mail is read by guards.

KIM DOKJA THIS IS YOUR GODDAMN FAULT I HATE YOU
Okay, explanation time.
In Korean, there are two different words for characters: nonfiction characters and fictional characters. Kim Dokja uses both of them (this plays into his inability to distinguish "reality" from "fiction" and how he separates himself from the people around him. You know, the stuff I've discussed before. I digress). And this is reflected more apparently in his notifications from the 4th Wall.
Having realized this, and understanding this ambiguity and how it plays into Kim Dokja's character and the subtleties of ORV's narrative, we realized we had to go back and make some changes. Originally, we had been translating certain lines like this:
[Character 'Yoo Joonghyuk' is wary of you.]
Which, in English upon first glance, is perfectly fine.
The issue is that English does not differentiate between "nonfiction" and "fiction" characters. They're ALL CHARACTERS. The only alternative is calling them actual people in nonfiction because English recognizes that these are stories about people, not characters. "Characters" are USUALLY only used for fictional characters by default, whether or not we realize it.
So, we run into an issue. Because, then, what does Kim Dokja call "nonfictional characters" in English? We're sure as hell not calling them "characters" too, and "person" does not work as an alternative in this scenario.
Thus, the only choice is to go back and fix everything. Which is a pain in the ass due to my extra work, BUT I do really love how now we'll be able to see that extra layer. Because, see, in Kim Dokja's (English) narration, he calls "fictional characters" just "characters" and calls regular people, you know. Real people. Basically, the same TL we've always seen. That's unchanged.
What IS changed is the system messages from the 4th Wall! This is where the magic happens.
Now instead of [Character 'Yoo Joonghyuk' is wary of you.] it's [The fictional character 'Yoo Joonghyuk' is wary of you.] And every REAL person is like [The character 'Yoo Sangah' has activated 'Interpretation Lv. 1'.]
Confusing? Good! It's meant to be so that the reader themselves can see how Kim Dokja blurs the line (and this is accurate to the Korean version).
AND it makes [Character List] all the more haunting and foreboding when you realize that ANYONE can end up on it. Which is exactly what happens in ORV.
The hand-holding scene between Yoo Sangah and Kim Dokja (and the official art for it by BB-nim) are both nods to the upcoming major theme of Impossible Communication being expressed early on. ORV is a story whose themes (represented in the 5 pieces of the Wall) are interwoven throughout the narrative, but get their own big moments to explore those themes. Impossible Communication becomes a central theme in Arc 2, but the hand-holding scene is representative of it here in Arc 1.
Kim Dokja decides to open up his heart a little bit and tell some of his story, but he does it in a way where even he himself feels like he's telling someone else's story. He can't quite grasp why he's bothering. But he's nevertheless writing on the wall and hoping that someone might read and at least process and connect this story to him. He doesn't expect Yoo Sangah to understand him. In fact, he doesn't think she will at all. He sees her as someone who grew up in a comfortable and happy home. It would be impossible for someone to understand the type of hardship he'd gone through. Maybe she'd understand intellectually, but not in the way that he wants. At the same time, he doesn't want pity. He doesn't want Yoo Sangah's usual kindness and sympathy. He does, but he doesn't. Again, he doesn't know why he's telling her this.
He tells himself that he's telling her to hurt her. He's lashing out in frustration and upset and embarrassment both because of his conversation with his mother, but also because someone had seen past his walls and had witnessed such a scene between him and his mother. He's being cruel here, and it's intentional. Like when someone feels hurt, they'll scream at you. It's an animalistic and very human response. He knows that forcing someone like Yoo Sangah into this position of realizing how she had seen too much and now would need to suffer with the social taboo of poking their nose in where they shouldn't, and knowing that she's hurting Kim Dokja by prying where he neither wants nor needs her, will only serve to hurt her. And the worst part is, he'll gain no comfort for it. Again, he doesn't expect nor want her to understand. It plays into how people treated him in the past, and how Kim Dokja has shut himself away from the world for the violence it has done against him. He expects nothing of anyone when it comes to himself, and it's both painful and reassuring whenever he's proven right time and again.
This is the wall that is between them. Kim Dokja is speaking, but he doesn't expect to truly be HEARD, you know? That's why he's speaking in this disconnected way. He's telling part of his story, but he's dissociating himself from it. It's like a side story to the narrative his mother put out about his own life. This is a story of Kim Dokja, but when Kim Dokja's "reality" has been turned into "fiction", is it even really his "true" story anymore? It's just another novel on the bookshelf. A story for other people to talk about. And after he comes to an end and he finishes lashing out, he doesn't feel any better. He just feels bad for attacking someone who didn't deserve it. So, he backtracks. He tries to say it's all a joke. He pulls his shell back together to close the door. He tries to wash away the words he'd written on the wall between them.
But Yoo Sangah doesn't let him. Rather, she doesn't try to communicate with him through words. What can you possibly say in this situation? She's well-aware that everything Kim Dokja is thinking (that she's not someone who can understand due to her upbringing) isn't entirely incorrect. Yoo Sangah, as she says, is someone who can never judge nor fully understand Kim Dokja's choices and actions. His feelings toward his mother are nobody else's. He doesn't need to justify himself, nor will he be able to have someone who understands truly because there's nobody but him who has experienced that story. Nothing Yoo Sangah can say in this moment will help Kim Dokja. Words are trite, he doesn't want to hear them, and this is proven by the fact that every time Yoo Sangah does attempt to respond, Kim Dokja just barrels over her without really listening. He doesn't want her words.
So, Yoo Sangah doesn't use words. When he tries to backtrack, she simply touches his hand. It's a small, so very human gesture. A simple comfort. Human touch runs deeper in our psyches than language. Touch can communicate so much without a single word. The message that is passed along is one for the receiver to interpret. It says a lot, and yet nothing at all. And it's the perfect "response" that Kim Dokja is looking for. Touch is comfort. It says "I'm here". It doesn't force any trite words on him. It doesn't demand anything. It's Yoo Sangah simply saying "I'm here." And as she holds that hand it says "Don't push me away. I'm with you." And whatever Kim Dokja receives from that is only for him to know. Because some things can't be put into words.
And despite this "Impossible Communication", Kim Dokja receives that message. He, who is trapped in a world that is neither reality nor fiction, that is behind a wall that nobody can cross or comprehend, receives a message from the outside. Up until this point he's felt nothing but cold (literally and metaphorically within the scene which signifies his isolation and his numbness to his reality. This dissociation he feels from his own tale, and this current moment he's in with Yoo Sangah. But Yoo Sangah's hand feels warm, and it feels real to him. And in this little moment, Yoo Sangah reaches a hand past that wall.
She cannot fully understand him, but she doesn't need to fully understand to let him know that she sees him and hears him and that she's here and that he doesn't need to pull away. This is even shown more in the description. Neither Yoo Sangah nor Kim Dokja are looking at each other, and yet they can still touch. They still have each other's presences. And they're both very real.
BB-nim's art reflects this as well. The image has three rectangles with the first two being upright and side by side shots of Kim Dokja and Yoo Sangah's faces, neither looking at each other. There is a line separating the two of them from each other, symbolizing this wall between them. But then a horizontal rectangle below joins the images together as their hands touch, invariably crossing that wall. It's a beautiful scene.
